You know, the vast majority of people over the age of about 35 don’t use Twitter, so I doubt that nook of “social media” will affect them in the least. They’re more likely to see the replay of their disgrace, if at all, on Youtube or Facebook.

There is actually a pretty large demographic that checks the 45 and older categories using it these days. Have a look sometime, you may surprise yourself.

Let me be clear here. When Truman integrated the Armed Forces in 1948 there was some DEATH that roamed the barracks. Finally, people had to comply because if they did not, they were busted out of the ranks. AT A MINIMUM, I would DEMAND that these people are on Twitter, youtube or whatever else people of civility and common sense would use to assert that the United States still is a Developed Country, with standards of public behavior. Well that would be quite an unfortunate coincidence for them. You seem to be suggesting that they saw the opportunity to be on camera for a few seconds, and of all the silly things they could do they decide to mimic a chokehold in an MMA fight, unaware that the report was about a fatal chokehold incident. What are the odds? The “tap out” motion, if that’s what it was meant as, doesn’t mean anything, I don’t think they were attempting a precise reenactment, and I also don’t see how they were attempting a hug in the first place.

I agree that it would be a completely dumb thing to do and there’s no rational political statement they could be making, but that doesn’t mean that there’s no one out there dumb enough to do it. I don’t know where they get their news of course, but it’s easy to imagine consumers of conservative media becoming desensitized to the idea of black men being killed by cops, having had the message drilled into them that the cop is always right, and that the thug would have eventually been killed by other black thugs anyway. So not a political statement per se, just a chance to mock all those libtards who think racism still exists.

What’s the matter with you? Because someone offers an alternate interpretation of this unknown couples’ actions you accuse him of being a member of the KKK? That’s not how people interact on this site.

Personally I am not 100% certain what those people were doing. But given the way she holds up her hands it did indeed seem to be a re-enactment of Garner’s death. Deckbose was not denying that this would be a despicable thing to do. He may not be right in the interpretation he offered. But he certainly should be able raise the question without having extreme insults thrown at him.
