Discussion for article #230721

Are there two hosts who are more rude to their guests than Joe and Mika? No, and that is why when Russell Brand called them out on it it was so damned beautiful.

I wish Joe and Mika would permanently shut their mouths on that show. It would be a much better show that way.

“One thing I’ve learned from doing TV: I’ve never regretted not opening my mouth. It’s always the times when you do – and shouldn’t have – that get you in trouble.”

It’s a shame Joe himself doesn’t follow that dictum…

And this is the morning show that beat CNN “FIVE years in a row” according to their advert. Joe will hold up his hand, fingers splayed, to drive that point home for those of us that seem bewildered.

It has become Morning Joke or Mourning Joe: whatever!

It says something when your inflated sense of self importance (i.e. Joe Scarborough) leads you to forget that you have guests who are supposed to contribute to the discussion.

So, why is this news, huh?

TPM is increasingly wallowing into the third pool of media bias: laziness (the other two are sensationalism, and conflict.)

This is he kind of mindless, non-journalistic, navel gazing that makes fake news seem legitimate.

Once again, a story about a journalist who was on a media program. And what happened? He hadn’t been heard from for a while.

Big deal–as was expressed by the journalist himself.

Does this qualify as laziness?

Gonna have to go with Bill O’Rielly. With as much of an asshat that guy is to his guests, it is amazing anyone goes on the show anymore.

And his rudeness doesn’t stop at what he says to their face. After they have left he will sometimes bring out this joker to psychoanalyze the guests based on their body language during the interview. And it is never positive.

Indeed. Exhibit 1: Joe Scarborough.

You have obviously never seen Bill “cut his mic” O’Rielly.

guests should know by now their presence is only for show – and to sit mutely by while being lectured to by scarbro… watch meeka for how it’s done; although she gets to display her pouty face/goo goo eyes, depending on the topic.
geist is just killing time until matt lauer gets the heave-ho…

No wonder I don’t waste time with Joe and Mika. Or with Billo the clown.

That remark was a priceless gem from someone who evidently knows the pointlessness of joining in the morning hollering.

I saw a short clip yesterday of Lauer interviewing footballer Rice and his wife, so timid, so deferential, so worthless, but he was probably told to be by the NFL

I listened to the segment this morning with Gene Robinson on the Ram’s player protest. Joe was at his most rude, and Gene was trying to be polite and circumspect… but it was the perfect illustration of a man of color trying not to incite a white bully. I wish that Mr. Robinson had given a few choice words and walked off the set.

Joe cannot help it. He’s a former Congressman and they make their living spouting inanities. Keeping one’s mouth shut isn’t possible for a former politician.
