“Look, you have to understand, we’re not trying to be practical. Just trying to appeal to our fellow ingrates and oppose the President. I’m dumber than I look.”
It reminds me of many of the abortion discussions. Here there is the ringing declaration of something that we all think sounds nice - our laws should be obeyed - followed by a pullback from “So it follows, we should deport all 11.7 million.?” For abortion one gets, it is wrong to destroy an innocent human life - followed by a pullback from “So the women should get life imprisonment?”
Basically, I would like this unpleasant thing that I don’t like to disappear - no I don’t actually want to DO anything about it - wishing should make it so.
Hayes said “Ronald Reagan” three times while Brooks pontificated ignorantly about Clinton. It was a perfect example of the Republican bubble at work. See no evil, hear no evil, speak endless evil.
Another fact Hayes mentioned which Brooks claimed was untrue. Illegal immigration is down. Brooks said, “How can that be when we’ve just seen 60,000 kids surge across the border?” (What is it with Repugs and the word “surge”?)
“Factual data,” Brooks said. “Pull it up.”
Okay.
Of course, I wouldn’t give anyone a job if I actually had to pay them a living wage for it, whether they’re a real American or not. On the other hand, the only real Americans are Dave and Charlie Koch, and they don’t need jobs, so…
So it’s OK for the last 5 republican presidents to issue 18 EO’s about immigration but heaven help the Democrat who does so:
Holy Jesus, can’t ANYONE play the game anymore? This guy wasn’t sparring with Hayes. He was implicitly admitting that he didn’t have a clue what he was talking about, and shouldn’t have spoken in the first place. And while I don’t expect Republicans to have answers I agree with, they should at least have SOME god damn answers.
But over and over, whenever they’re asked to go beyond their boilerplate slogans, the best they’ve got is to admit they don’t have the facts and are so damn dumb they don’t even see why that’s a problem. And unfortunately, our media is the exact same way, and don’t see why it’s a problem when someone admits that they don’t know what they’re talking about.
Ignorance is an admired trait these days among the GOP. It plays well with their base.
I’m not saying the president is a child molester. I’m just saying, isn’t it interesting that some children have been molested since he took office.
“I don’t know, I’m going to have to reserve judgment on that.”
“I have not examined the facts of those circumstances so I can’t pass judgement one way or the other.”
But he sure does love to blab about it anyway.
The difference is, Reagan’s intent in deferring action on 200K El Salvadorians was white and Republican, while Obama’s intent in this case is black and liberal. End of analysis.
Three words: melt. ing. pot.
So basically, Rep. Brooks makes a shitload of assertions. And when pressed to provide direct evidence for those assertions or to explain how similar acts by not-black Presidents could not also be criminal in nature, he pulls the “I don’t know, I’m not a scientist” defense. But hey, it sure does “feel like it should be a felony” to him, though. What a dipshit.
Well, in all fairness, he could hardly pull a Reagan-(D), could he?
"At some point you have to evaluate,” I thought you where supposed to “evaluate” first, then accuse. Silly me, I had it all backwards.
Fuck Chris Hayes telling his audience that Congressman Brooks speaks honestly about immigration.
Bull fucking shit.
Mo probably doesn’t care that he made a fool of himself on TV. He knows that talk of jailing the president excites the white-sheet-and-hood crowd that elected him. And besides, Chris Hayes’ ratings are very poor in the KKK demographic.
Looks like we’ve got a screen name hijacker folks. Flagged
It’s just beej/EG again. You can tell by the lies and the poor grammar. Flag and move on.
Since the President stated over and over that he would withdraw his action if and when the Congress finally acts by passing their own bill (which they have declined to do since even Bush was in office); AND since the next President could over-ride the current Executive Action, I have one question for you: WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
Oh, Here is another question: WHO IN THE HELL ARE YOU TO BE CALLING ANYONE A TURD, A MORON OR IDIOT?
