As the official reincarnation of Ronald Reagan (Southern mythic version), Chris McDaniel is well within his rights to plagiarize the late president.

Reagan got it from the racist states right crowd in Philadelphia, MS in 1980

“Given that they referenced a post from February, one might even think Chris McDaniel’s name was on the general ballot this November 4th.”

Chris McDaniel who? ~ McDaniel spokesman Noel Fritsch

The face looks familiar-I think he was voted off the island during the second season of Survivor.

“It is highly comical that of all media outlets, BuzzFeed is apparently
the self-appointed ‘Facebook plagiarism’ police,” Fritsch said.

Hey Noel, I saw somebody steal your lawnmower last month but I haven’t reported it cause I don’t want to be one of the ‘Toro Troopers.’

Is that okay?

McDaniel: “Reagan stole my future words!”

Actually, it rather looks like Reagan probably plagiarized this from John C. Calhoun.

Meh. Reagan probably cribbed it from one of his movies.

you can tell it’s Reagan because it sounds good, but it’s not true. 37 states entered the Union after the Constitution was ratified. They were, in fact, created by the federal government, not the other way around. Mississippi is, of course, one of those…

Isn’t one plagiarist in the U.S. Senate enough? After all, it’s the ‘greatest deliberative body in the world,’ not the ‘greatest body of thieves in the world.’

Well, wait a sec.

It’s just not fair! Ronald Reagan already used up all the good dog-whistle words!

McDaniel spokesman Noel Fritsch released a statement to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger dismissing the source of the claims.

However, he did not dispute the plagiarism. In a shorter version, he explained, “So what?”

True, but stealing quotes might reflect on a person’s character should that person try to be on the ballot in some future November.

McDaniel’s denial non-denial should know that now we get to hear Reagan’s voice again in his opponent’s ads.

Yup. Reagan said that.

“All of us need to be reminded that the Federal Government did not create the States; the States created the Federal Government.”

Yes, “nyah, nyah, nyah” and the infamous “I know you are, but what am I” defenses will play very well in explaining this away.

Ahhhh,to hell with this loser. Can we hear more about the doofus in Oregon who had his gun stolen at gunpoint by a big, scary, BLACK gun?

Wow, that response from McDaniel’s camp is the textbook definition of “false equivalency” … all of the maturity of “and so’s your mother” at recess on the 3rd grade playground. I miss the good ol’ days when Republicans actually tried to sound and look like they cared about anything other than their own narrow and bigoted agendas.

He was quoting God; that is not plagiarism.
