Discussion for article #228133
So the prosecutors have asked to hear from the family’s lawyers, and have received nothing.
I’m not sure what to make of this non-story. In and of itself, the fact the prosecutor’s office hasn’t reached out to the Brown family doesn’t say much. The fact the family’s attorneys haven’t reached out to the prosecutors says a little more. This isn’t a time for wounded pride and perceived slights. It’s a time for taking action to press forward for justice for Michael Brown.
The biggest concern has always been that McCullough would tailor his presentation of evidence in such ways that the grand jury would decide not to indict. How this grand jury is operating is so opaque and beyond the view of the general public. The amount of time being taken is hard to comprehend–almost longer than any subsequent trial could last. Surely there is enough prima facie evidence to warrant a trial?
If no indictment is brought against Darren Wilson, there will be hell to pay on the streets of Ferguson, and across America.
It’s a done deal that Darren Wilson will not be indicted.
I’m with you on that, Joseph. It’s a done deal. The teen will not receive justice; just like the other teen, Trayvon. This is an outrage. That cop is guilty, pure and simple. McCullough needs to go Now.
The American public at large has no idea how grand juries operate. You have tons of people thinking this grand jury was selected after Brown was shot in order to get Wilson off in some grand conspiracy theory. The grand jury was established prior to the shooting.
Also this grand jury is actually open with all the stuff being recorded for public viewing which is unlike any other grand jury before.
Especially when all the witnesses who haven’t talked to the press out of fear they will be targeted by the Brown supporters talk to the grand jury.
Day one prior to this being blown up by the media there were reports of eyewitnesses stating that Brown did indeed attack the officer. Instead the media presented the narrative it was an innocent kid (his friend Dorian Jackson admits they robbed the store of the cigars), that Brown had been shot in the back, he was instead shot in the front, that Brown was over 30 feet away in reality he was a lot closer and several witnesses state that Brown was rushing the officer and taunting him prior to rushing.
Also four hours is not that unusual for a body to lay out at a crime scene especially when you have people constantly trying to get to the body to take photos of it. The forensics people instead of going over the scene had to be doing crowd control to prevent from people stealing stuff and destroying evidence.
Please cite the sources for this claim.
Yeah, sure – somehow it’s always the dead black teenager’s fault.
What a steaming pantload of speculation and mendacity.
Wait. You’re saying the grand jury was selected prior to the shooting?
The legal system is hiding, the shooter is hiding, and the whole police department is hiding. If the shooter felt justified, he would have come out and said so.
If the shooter felt justified, if the evidence pointed in his direction, then they all wouldn’t be hiding. They would have the evidence that vindicated his actions spread all over the world. If they were all telling the TRUTH, then they wouldn’t be hiding.
And the fault of the Brown supporters who are scaring off the witnesses who saw Brown charge the officer and bust his eye socket out using a a crowbar and two paperclips.
The cop will walk.
The DA knows he should not.
The Community will go into rage.
The rage will be tamped down by aggressive police action.
The issue involves Black people under the control of White people. There is always one outcome in situations like that.
Why can’t we let the goddamn cop stand up on his own and speak for himself? Why do you feel it is your duty to apologize for him and justify this murder?
Rather, the white American public at large, including those hailing from the Jim Crow South but by no means restricted to there, has no idea how the “justice system” disproportionately dispenses death and punishment to people of color.
It is a common meme that a DA can indict a ham sandwich. If he fails in that regard, it’s a clear indication that the DA didn’t want to try this case. It’s much easier for him to leave it up to the Feds to find whatever justice they can salvage.
Exactly! Those paper clips are a bitch!
Five days before Wilson killed Michael Brown, the primary election for St Louis County determined the candidates for the Nov. 4th mid-term.
Mccullock won the dem candidacy (with 71% of the vote) over the female challenger African American Leslie Broadnax.
"
Leslie Broadnax, who is running for St. Louis County prosecutor on the August 5 Democratic primary ballot, is qualified, by training and experience, to do almost anything when it comes to the law.
She has worked for the county and the city prosecutors’ offices. She has been a city attorney and is a municipal judge. She is currently a lawyer practicing family law and criminal defense.
Her political experience is not shabby either. She has chaired St. Louis County’s Board of Equalization, served as elected committeeperson in St. Ferdinand Township, managed political campaigns in the county and city, and worked as a field organizer in the 2004 presidential race."

St. Louis Co. elections aren’t really about Republican/Democratic Parties. They are about Euro Americans and African American candidates.
The demographics of precincts match election results.
Bless you for you know not what you say.
How so? Please explain your comment (and please cut the patronizing “bless you” nonsense) .
