As we keep saying, our country is becoming more and more âtribal.â Unfortunately, true native tribes are not recognized by the frightening transition in our countryâs mind set.
Had no idea this ethnic cleansing was going on from Day 1 of Zinkeâs tenure. I do hope he loses his job, those workers sue to get their jobs back + damages and Congress (read: Democrats) make the Trump pay for this terrible Nazi-like excess (Godwinâs Law temporarily suspended).

Newland has the correct take in this. Zinke was not acting in an old fashioned bigoted way. He was deliberately removing people he could reasonably expect would oppose his efforts to sell Americaâs future to the oil, lumber and coal companies. They stood in his way and had to go.

Bigger problem is that, sure, they can be replaced, but does anyone seriously believe the replacements will be better? The only thing they could be better at is hiding their actions and stonewalling any effort at oversight.

It sounds assured to make the assertion that Zinke will have a nice cozy seat at a fossil fuel or timber industry board table when he is done at Interior. That is, if he can avoid prosecution for anything he appears inclined to commit while secretary.
Since the office charged with providing appointees seems to function according to guidelines typically followed by fraternity initiations, Iâm sure theyâll find a quality applicant.

This is exactly the same reason white settlers killed the eastern tribes or pushed them west, then claimed even the western lands and âgaveâ them a few reservations or parts of Oklahoma - which they then, of course, took back. White people wanted their resources, land or mineral.
Even, say, the Osage, who had managed to legally secure ownership of the mineral rights of their land, were subjected to an assault by marriage and adoption and then widespread but âmysteriousâ deaths in the 1920s when they came into sudden, incredible oil wealth. So, maybe thatâs just economic rape, not racism, in your book. But it counts as racism in mine.
