It’s not that they did or didn’t pay. It’s that it uses staff time that could be better used.
Sizing up the acreage for luxury condo development, no doubt. Oh, and trophy hunting lodges.
(On a brighter note, that photo of him is priceless.)
The administration led by a guy known to cheat, steal and lie is enriching itself every day; we taxpayers pick up the tab for their freebies, and in Zinke, Pruitt and Munooch, we have a trifecta of greed we’ve never seen before. To expose their greed is to be accused of being part of the deep state which is trying to hinder government but in fact is only an attempt to point out greed and malfeasance…
Koch-Sucking Swamp Fraud.
Do they get their tour before Zinke sells it off to mines and oil drillers or after?
Who’s next? Energy secretary Rick Perry providing guided tours to friends and acquaintances of nuclear facilities. “That red button over there…Ooops!”
So, what’s the kick back for the Zinke’s? They aren’t doing these tours out of the goodness of their hearts. I bet good money the Zinke’s are getting something in return…
Boy, the taxpayers are really going to go in debt just to pay off these bills of the Republicans in office. I guess deficits don’t matter to Republicans right now. Having these Republicans in office is as bad as the Viet Nam war. Someone needs to be keeping track of how many Americans die as a result of these policies.
And then there’s Rob Goldstone. Oops, different kind of SEAL.
And these are the same skumbags that defend deporting the Dreamers because, as children, they ‘broke’ immigration laws.
Does too much testosterone result in arrogance?
'Lyin Dinkey, the guy who is in competition with Scott Pruitt and Ben Carson and Steve Munchkin for the most craven Cabinet Secretaries.
Who does he think he is? Scott Pruitt?
thank god there wasn’t a train involved.
Well, I wish I could forget him. Maybe someday, before too long, I will.
But, I’m not aware of his having been a Navy SEAL. Was he?
Yes.
Interior spokesperson Heather Swift said in an email to WaPo Thursday that Zinke “uses his own personal time to give tours of the Lincoln Memorial to employees, reporters, and the general public several times per month because he believes the more people who experience our parks, the better.”
“People” here obviously means the right kind of people. And screw the rest of you.
“Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action.” —Ian Fleming, James Bond
Look at his picture. It says, “I’m entitled. You poor ordinary people don’t count…you can just pay vastly more entrance fees to the national parks.” The sooner Zinke is gone, the sooner we will have at least a step toward democracy…
It’s selection bias. You have to pass a rigorous psych exam to become a SEAL. For example, you have to say you would have no problem gunning down a child if you thought he or she was a threat. So, the program kind of looks for people who don’t hesitate on moral issues.
Zinke comes clean about his self-image:
