It does sound a little as if YT had no incident response plan that their employees were aware of.
And this is also why a culture of guns is such a bad idea. If even a small percentage of people decide to settle disputes with them, you’re in deep yogurt.

Of course she “should have”, but YT actively promotes the idea that ordinary people can start channels and make piles of money from advertising and endorsements. To the point where it’s on the career choice lists of little kids along with firefighter and president. So it’s not surprising that some people would take the company’s self-promotion seriously.
