I was denied health insurance before Obamacare. Is that considered choosing??

Yup. Just like you choose to be poor. Or gay. Or sick.

The GOP doesn’t care that 15 million people would choose to go uninsured. I wonder if public hospitals that cannot turn away sick and injured people feel the same way? And what of the millions of children whose parents choose to have the family uninsured?

Lots of choice:

Food or insurance.
Heat or insurance.
Rent or insurance.
Pay for a car to get to my job that I need for food, heat, and rent or insurance.

So much choice.

I’d like to have a choice about my military defense coverage, please.

“Either they’re ignorant or they’re lying,”

Or both.

Sure, it’s a choice. Pay $25000 per year for crap insurance that doesn’t cover much of anything, or don’t get health insurance at all. That’s Freedom!

Right. You’re choosing between food or shelter or healthcare.

But under the murderous republican Trumpcare you’re not permitted all three because millionaires need toys.

Correction: the GOP is choosing policy that will radically diminish the quality of millions of Americans health care choices.

22 million people would just choose to not be able to afford heath insurance. These lazy slackers can just go without food and shelter. What losers.

FREEDOM!

So, they’re pro-choice now. It’s a miracle!

Aha, yet another GOP graduate of the Trump school of Faux Leadership, Fraud and Public Dissembling.

Dear GOP–

You’re partly right. We won’t ‘lose’ our health care insurance. We know exactly where it is.

We’re being ROBBED of our insurance to provide a tax cut to people who already have a lot of money.

Stop pretending it’s like we misplaced the car keys.

Wonder what the ratio of iPhones to inpatient procedures is these days…

And all those GOPhers will choose to give up their congressional healthcare, right?

Freedom to go bankrupt if you unexpectedly wind up sick or in the ER. What could be better?

Hey remember this guy:
https://www.hcfama.org/blog/romney-no-no-i-mandates-mandates-work
ROMNEY: No, no, I like mandates. The mandates work.

THOMPSON: I beg your pardon? I didn’t know you were going to admit that. You like mandates.

ROMNEY: Let me – let me – oh, absolutely. Let me tell you what kind of mandates I like, Fred, which is this. If it weren’t…
ROMNEY: Here’s my view: If somebody – if somebody can afford insurance and decides not to buy it, and then they get sick, they ought to pay their own way, as opposed to expect the government to pay their way. And that’s an American principle. That’s a principle of personal responsibility. So, I said this: If you can afford to buy insurance, then buy it. You don’t have to, if you don’t want to buy it, but then you got to put enough money aside that you can pay your own way, because what we’re not going to do is say, as we saw more and more people…

GIBSON: Governor, (inaudible) you imposed tax penalties in Massachusetts (inaudible).

The bottom line is they used to support a mandate otherwise you would have “free riders” An old economic term conservatives used to champion.

If a white guy had been POTUS when the ACA was enacted, rethugs would be in love with it, mandates included.

Toys that they can afford even without the tax cuts. They really have no need for the money whatsoever.
