Discussion: Yale Law Students Protest Kavanaugh Nomination On Campus And In DC

I love this. Grad students are often focused on their studies and can be a bit self-absorbed with their workload and career preparations. This gives me hope that young people will be engaged in political discourse and resist the temptation to say nothing will change so they might as well give up. Kudos to the faculty as well for removing any penalties for students who missed class to protest.

Perfect comments by Dean Gerken. Good job, students and faculty.

Hail, hail Alma Mater!

Just wait till Georgetown Prep turns on you, Kav. And the Keg City Club and Beach Week Ralph Club.

This kind of institutional support has to have some folks sweating the midterms even more. As they should.

The law school had issued a press release about Kavanaugh’s nomination in July, with Gerken and other faculty members praising his work.

Funny think about that press release. It was its issuance that galvanized students, staff and alum opposition to his SCOTUS nomination.

I’m watching the Turtle speak live from the Senate floor right now. Methinks his anus has some serious burn happening. He’s really blowing forth

Very angry about delaying the nomination…talk about hypocrisy!

Makes me proud of my law school, especially the letter from faculty. Now let’s see something from Yale undergrads, too. I want to be proud of both.

They were wrong to have done that even then.
What was that anyway? Careerism? Stupidity? “Loyalty”?
It tells you not to trust faculty at prestigious universities.

We pursue 90 year-old Nazis for their moral and legal reckoning.

We should also pursue 50 year-old sex offenders for their moral and legal reckoning.

Glad to see there are signs that Yale Law is aware it’s reputation is tied up in all this.

And that it is not pleased.

Well, we do in other cases. Bill Cosby and Catholic priests come immediately to mind.

And it’s for a freakin’ lifetime appointment.

You would think that would be a job that calls for an assessment of his whole life.

I wonder if Amy Chua is keeping her mouth shut from now on.
