Bravo! Finally the legal profession begins to stand up for due process! Where is the American Bar Association? State Bar Associations? Individual lawyers who understand that the justice system is a core component of a democracy?

How can an appointment to the Supreme Court who accepts that cheating to get there is acceptable be other than a cheater?

I do wonder what this will do to the court itself. It’s unlikely that lawyers arguing cases before the court will dare ask kavanaugh to recuse, even on matters where he has a clear conflict. But other justices, even gorsuch, are going to have a tough time working with a probable felon. And the incentives for clerks to leak will be well nigh impossible to resist.

I’m really wondering if the MD Attny General, a Dem, has been talking to Team Ford and Christine herself about opening up a case to look into this matter on a state level. I read that there is no statue of limitations. That would really put a hold on any Senate vote, at least in a normal world anyway. This is not a normal world.

Party girl Suzie Collins pre-approved Kavanaugh…even while publicly claiming she was undecided. Collins gladly accepts PAC money from billionaires wanting tax cuts…but when common Maine folks ban together and raise money to defend women’s rights she labels that ‘black mail’. While Trump is certainly disgusting, he has certainly exposed the true hidden Republican Party…a party that doesn’t believe in majority rule and rather where money and skin tone and gender rule. Suzie chooses party over nation and over women! Very sad times for Maine.

You make a good point.

Just wondering if MD Guv, NOT a Dem, would have any ‘veto’ authority over any decision to open said investigation.

Any ‘Help’ out there??

Been out for a while. Glad to see the controversy is settling down.

Speaking of Yale have you seen the sexy flags they fly there?

That that article also…

Kavanaugh also belonged to an all-male secret senior society called Truth and Courage, which no longer exists. Some students knew the group by the nickname “Tit and Clit,” the newspaper reported.

…he is so fucking guilty of attacking Ford.

The appropriate thing would be for Kanaugh to call for a fair hearing and a full investigation. It’s bad optics that he doesn’t, which of course means nothing to Republican dead enders. This is Democratic dirty tricks. That’s all. And investigations are only for Democrats.

But don’t I recall that Al Franken called for a full hearing? Don’t I recall that?

You are known by the company you keep:

  • An all male high school known for ignoring underage rampant drunkenness and predatory sexuality at unsupervised parties.

  • A Yale fraternity also noted for predatory sexual acting out: “Yale banned the DKE chapter from campus for five years in 2011 after videos showed frat recruits chanting “no means yes, yes means anal” in front of the University’s Women’s Center.” The fraternity DKE is back on campus but is under investigation for multiple incidents of rape as of early this year. (The story was pretty much the same in Kavanaugh’s time.)

  • A super-special Yale secret society: “Kavanaugh also belonged to an all-male secret senior society called Truth and Courage, which no longer exists. Some students knew the group by the nickname “Tit and Clit,” the newspaper reported.”

Decent people didn’t spend their formative years in the gutter. Kavanaugh sought out the gutter and thinks it’s A-OK. I wonder if he’s OK with his little girl attending these parties in just two more years?

will those old white guys on the Judiciary committee comply. hell they won’t even have the courage to ask a victim of sexual assault questions

That can’t be the full letter. Where are the signatures? Who signed it?

So we know McConnell didn’t want Kavanaugh.
We know why Trump wants Kavanaugh, but who shopped the Kav to Trump?
We know that the Republicans are working harder than they ever had to get Kavanaugh on the Court, we know that there are cases (outside of any thing Trumpian) that their donors want settled in their favor.
We know that the Republicans are running scared of a Blue Wave. And a bunch of them chose retreat as a course of honor.
So who is really pulling the strings, Who is paying for Kavanaugh to get on the court?
Hope someone follows the money.

At the beginning of Sept. the ABA gave Kavanaugh its highest rating of “well-qualified”. In light of this news since however, that assessment seems a highly dubious. Even taking into account the lack of open records requests being provided to the full committee, I can’t understand how the hell they reached this ridiculous position either. It speaks to the fact that he had something to hide from the get-go and his integrity was always an issue on that basis.

The NY Bar Association withheld its review and rating of Kavanaugh, doubting he testified truthfully.
