Discussion: WSJ: White House Complained Report On Travel Ban Not What Trump 'Asked For'

Wouldn’t it be simpler for the White House if they just stole some letterhead from DHS and wrote their own report?

(Jeez – don’t these people know how to do anything?)

It’s fact-based information, so yeah, it’s not the report the white house was seeking.

The shitstorm of Trump shows no sign of lessening as its malaise-rich bafflement remains The Monster’s surest grip on power…

Republicraps apparently don’t remember the last time they tried to get the IC to lie to support their political agenda.

They can just send Sebastian Gorka (aka Zoltan Karpathy, that Dreadful Hungarian) over to DHS on TDY and they’ll get their desired outcome.

In other words the intelligence assessment didn’t confirm what Trump wanted confirmed. Obviously it was a fake intelligence assessment. Off with their heads. The last world leader who thought like this was named Stalin.

Could only find some old Embassy of Niger letterhead in a drawer in the Veep’s office area…

What a shame that our intelligence agencies are mired in a fact based reality

The 3-page draft report that was rejected was posted in a link on Rachel Maddow’s site. If there was a link in the TPM articles on this issue, I missed it.

Hand them a bound stack of blank sheets while saying archly, “We all know what these mean…”

Typical Republicanism.

They’ve already established the result they want. They just need to find/cherry pick “evidence” that supports said conclusion.

Like “alternative facts”, now we have the anti-scientific method.

Also works for climate change, transgender bathroom use, same sex marriage, immigration issues…why let no evidence get in the way of a good hate?

Unnamed officials said that the report ignored information that supports the travel ban,

I didn’t even have to read the article to know this was the case.

Committing Public Displays of Incompetence and Ignorance - for the entire world to see.

A) Aren’t they supposed to look at intelligence before creating and dictating policy?

B) If you are going to try to deceive the public with trumped up intel reports - you don’t broadcast that fact by whining that those creating the report gave you the wrong report.

The world shakes its head. Don’t know which is of greater magnitude their incompetence or their idiocracy.

I think they already tried that

DT wants an honest report that is based on “You know, a lot of people are saying" and “I’ve heard it.”

More republicans have been arrested for bathroom shenanigans than transgender folks.

What he wanted was a pre-Iraq intelligence report that said that Muslims from the countries he wants to ban are buying yellow cake uranium from Niger.

The last world leader who thought like this was actually Cheney.

Yes, but you see, that’s ok because they take a “wide stance” on that issue.
