Burn After Reading!
These guys don’t know how to do villainy right and proper. Complicated business being an effective fascist.
I’m truly grateful that Mueller is shaking up K street. Flynn’s company is way out on a limb here, but they aren’t the only lobbyists in DC who have represented thugs and autocrats if the price was right. And even at the expense of our own national security. That certainly needs to change.
Maybe I’m naive, but I find the lack of fidelity to our country at the highest levels truly appalling. The plutocrats view citizenship as strictly transactional. If we don’t give them what they want, fine, they’ll just abscond to another country. Just revolting.
Is Flynn another puppet?
Who found whom?
“Kian joined Flynn on Trump’s national security transition team.”
Didn’t Rupert Murdoch move to Great Britain and then to the US? He was granted citizenship here in a short amount of time.
Suspect you are right. We look at these things in singular ways, reality is likely something more endemic.Time and malaise allowed what we have today to occur. It did not happen over night. It propagated.
[Finishing the tought, editor blew this out first try]
On the flip side, We also look at Mueller and his investigation in the same way. Criminality tends to create an offsetting effect in general. There may be far more out there than we realizing working actively to stop it as well.
True. One thing that happened is those folks finally crawled up to home plate. So it is more visible. But how many politicians at lower levels exhibited that “in it for themselves” attitude. Heck I am in Texas, if it is Republican, I simply see that as their sole purpose for being there. Considering that if you are a moderate Republican running for office you will be sent packing now, there is little reason to register and run as such. A good Republican might as well switch parties and hang with the Democrats. So by natural selection, the grifters have become the standard. American Ideals? The Constitutation? Rule of Law? simply words to spew when campaigning.
The New York Times first reported Thursday that Flynn’s lawyers had ceased communicating with President Donald Trump’s lawyers on Mueller’s expansive investigation, hinting at the possibility that Flynn is cooperating with Mueller.
The tizzy fit that this inspires should be a good one.
the fit will go past tizzy and straight into conniption.
Flynn has formally entered that LOCK HIM UP zone and he’s got to look out for his baby boy and himself. So what will Flynn do?
Former CIA Director Woolsey was quasi working with Flynn and when he learned of Flynn’s kidnapping saga, he jumped ship! Woolsey ran and told the authorities, which is what he should have done!
At everyone and anyone but Flynn or Putin… expect more NFL or other minorities bashing plus a few “crooked Hillaries” and democrat obstructionists.
Gulen is a corrupt thug who hides under the umbrella of religion to rip off the American charter school system. His Harmony schools, which abuse the H-1B system to bring in cheap-ass Turkish teachers, are an organized system to rip off Americans. The teachers come in and are forced to pay back 40-50% of their salaries to Gulen, who lives in a huge compound in PA, and uses the money from the charter schools to organize a revolution in Turkey. We need to deport this Gulen criminal. Do NOT get confused by the politics - Gulen is a corrupt criminal who has ripped off America and abused the charter school movement for 30 years.
Doesn’t mean he should be kidnapped and turned over to the tyrant Erdogan.
Being accused of wrong-doing is different than being convicted of it – until he’s convicted, due process means he can stay in the U.S.
I know this of O/T, but WaPo does it again. Guess they feel they have to throw a bone to the Deplorables after all the investigative reporting
Mueller isn’t slowing down against Flynn even if he has a deal in hand. My suspicion (as yet unproven) is that Mueller found a lot more through Flynn than was initially believed. What could those things be? I speculate as to the following:
-
Trump was more aware of Flynn’s activities than has been known to date. As the article implies, Turkey was actively looking to get both Gulen captured/extradited and Zarrab released. Turkey’s audience was Trump, not Flynn. Flynn was a way to get to Trump. Erdogan gained a lot of political capital post-coup and the whole nation of Turkey was now vigilant and Erdogan had political capital to demand big things. Such demands could’ve only been credible if pitched to Trump. We see in this article that Turkey soft pedaled its criticism of Trump and actively promoted rapprochement through Flynn. They, like the Russians, thought HRC a dead end because of issues like support for the Kurds, the rule of law, and human rights. Trump made it clear that as long as you pay him, he doesn’t give a shit. This article also mentions that Putin was one of the first to call Erdogan and gave him assurances. Putin saw an opportunity to utilize Turkey to break the western alliance and disrupt Obama’s policy in Syria and he exploited it through Trump. The day after this kidnapping thing was discussed (9/19/16), Flynn met with Rohrabacher, Bijan Kian and other Russians (9/20/16). Coincidence? Kislyak also attended the annual Nowruz Commission non-profit dinner (Kian’s org) and there were prominent folks from Kazakhstan and other former Soviet bloc countries. The host was former CNN anchor Rudi Bakhtiar (she is also being questioned by Mueller for her role in putting together the anti-Gulen video). What did Trump get in exchange for this arrangement with Erdogan? He kept TT Istanbul intact. But I think Trump would’ve done it to support Putin, because Putin and Erdogan were both aligned on Syria. If you notice the number of times Trump mentions Syria, it’s because it’s important to Putin.

Trump was involved in trying to get Erdogan what he wanted. We know that Flynn first tried to end support for the Syrian Kurds. Mattis stopped that in its tracks to complete the Obama plan to root out Isis from Iraq, but now it looks like it’s happening. Trump has allied the US with Turkey to essentially help ISIS and Assad and squeeze the Kurds and by extension, the moderate Sunni Arabs whom Obama was attempting to elevate to create a more legitimate government in Syria. Trump fired Preet Bharara, for whom Erdogan and his foreign minister reserved particular scorn. Trump has been active to interview his replacement in SDNY. Could securing Zarrab’s release (as Rudy Giuliani tried and failed to do) and Gulen’s extradition be part of Trump’s motivation? I’m beginning to think so.
This says it all:
“Earlier this year he completed an online MBA through Grand Canyon University, a for-profit Christian school in Phoenix.”
Basically, the focus of this article doesn’t want to have anyone’s educational choices but his own paid for – and is a middle-aged white guy who doesn’t want anything to do with people who think differently.
They don’t want universities. They want live-in trade schools.
They don’t even really want that – they want the so-called “simpler times” where there was a well-trodden and easy path to a well-paying job that didn’t require critical thinking or dealing with non-whites (or other minorities like LGBT folks) as equals.
