Discussion for article #234452
There was a time when the Wall Street Journal was a respectable newspaper. Now, not so much.
âmisguided government interventions.â
Like the Civil Rights Act? Amazing.
You mean when there were easy to solve problems like lynching, it was easier to solve those problems? Itâs a lot easier to get folks to agree that extrajudicial killing and mob rule is a bad thing than to agree that unbalanced criminal sentences for minorities vs. whites contributes to economic disadvantage. Fuckin twit.
How far does he want to go back? 3/5 of a vote?
What âpull themselves up by their lynch strapsâ?!?! Is there a CO2 leak in the building?
âHistory shows that faster black progress was occurring at a time when whites were still lynching blacks, not merely singing about it,â Riley wrote
Yes, Iâm sure Emmitt Tillâs last thought was, âWell, this is progress!â
Summary of what this guy says all the time. The problem isnât racism, its that black people get to much help from the government. Which of course is bull.
Being a white American with a little more than half a brain, I can say that I can never know what it is like to be an African-American in this country, unlike the Teabaggers who think universal health care and other leftist policies are equal to being under the brutal yoke of slavery, and constantly poo-poo any mention of racism or discrimination unless, of course, some Ted Cruz-loving baker refuses to make a wedding cake for those heathen gay-marryinâ traitors. But being a gay man, I have to deal with groups like the Log Cabin Republicans - self-hating gay people that kiss the asses of their conservative overlords who despise them personally but will gladly take their support and votes, while at the same time pissing in their faces. But I see black people also have to suffer with people like Mr. Riley, delusional to the point of thinking he is going to be rewarded by his Republican masters for repeating their lickspittle. It seems we all have our âUncle Tomsâ to deal with.

There, fixed the headline for you.
Just goes to show you, no matter what the melanin quotient of your skin, in America, anyone can grow up to be an asshole.
Thanks Uncle Tom. We 'wus all just so WRONG about that there âracism thingyâ.
Whatâs worse than Anglo whitesplaining about racism? A POC whitesplaining that African America was better off when Anglos were lynching US. Donât worry dude, they love ya.
It never, ever occurs to these idiots that it wasnât the post Civil Rights era that caused the breakdown in the black family nor is it government doing itâs fucking job. The breakdown began when we lost nearly a generation of black men to the war in Vietnam. Some never came back, some came back in body bags, and some came back physically and/or emotionally broken. Many turned to drugs and alcohol to cope and stopped functioning as members of society. Because of the way they were treated upon their return, many struggled to find work and turned to crime. Losing nearly a generation of men had a ripple effect on the black community from which we still havenât recovered. Too many people grew up without fathers as a result of that war and too many more grew up with fathers who were unsuccessfully trying to cope in various ways. And to make matters even worse, as folks were coming back, crack was coming in, and that created a whole new war weâre losing.
So, yeah, government is to blame, but not for the reasons conservatives believe.
I really hate this self loathing uncle tom, I saw his on fox one day I was channel surfing and happened to see him speaking non sense , Iâd love to spit right in his face, never saw him in the flesh but I loath him!
Well said dommyluc!
What a sh*tstain. Talk about ignoring history. I guess heâd rather the percentage of black voters in Missippi be basically nil? Hey bozo-you can thank that Southern Democratic cracker LBJ for some real change.
Amen, sister.

So is he suggesting that we resume the practice in order to âspeed things alongâ, again? Real racial progress - one lynching at a time. Thatâll show those malcontents, right?
Now, there are some âreal American valuesâ. Maybe we can give them some smallpox ridden blankets, too. We can generate âsocial progressâ, whole families at a time.
And let him be the first to make the sacrifice for the rest of us.
