Discussion for article #242569
Those arenāt the Founding Fathers Carson is talking about.
The people who found the Pyramids were not elected to public office.
I would say it smells like the actual GOP talking point memo has turned on Carson, but really, heās doing this to himself.
Well who cares what those āsecular progressivesā at the Wall Street Journal think anyway.
Truth means nothing to this guy.
And this coming from a paper that employs Peggy Noonan, finds her credible and provides space for her to spout her nonsense.
Thatās Rich
āBen Carson compared himself to the Founding Fathers on Wednesday, none of whom, he said, held elected office. There was just one problem: thatās patently false.ā
Dr. Carson later acknowledged that he meant to say Jesus had never held elected office.
I love Carsonās ācorrectionā: he now says that the founders had never been elected to FEDERAL officeā¦ prior to the formation of the federal government. Umā¦ well observed, I guess!
And we haver today inter-tubes winner!
Carson is rapidly becoming the laughing-stock-in-chief.
I would like to welcome the Wall Street Journal to the āSecularist Progressiveā team. What size satin jacket do you wear?
Its a bit of both. He is going just too far out on the limb for them to follow. Plus, they are getting scared to death of what the man would be like in office. Probably more unpredictable than Trump.
And the really big thing is republican strategists for down ticket races are looking at what he would do to their chances. Politico had an article today about how both Carson and Trump really threaten the suburban GOP House members, because its voters in those districts less likely to vote for eitherā¦which means staying at home. And those are also the districts most likely for Dems to field competent challengers.
No reason at all for them to be scared of that - because he has no chance of getting elected to office. Which I think is in fact their bigger fear.
āA spokesman for the Carson campaign, when asked about the error, told the paper that the retired neurosurgeon had since edited his post to clarify the signers has no experience in āfederalā office.ā
TAUTOLOGICAL NONSENSE. THERE WAS AND HAD BEEN NO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT YET!!!
Next, Carson will preach messianically.
Not one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were legally in the United States of America when they signed.
So, if the WSJ quibbles with Carson about one historical fact, does that leave the impression that the rest of what this guy is saying is correct and truthful, even sane?
WSJ and FuxSnooz both disparaging Dr. Carson in one day - I guess Murdoch is ready for the end of amateur hour so his chosen lackey can take over first place.
Wait, so the signers of the Declaration of Independence had no experience in federal office of the country that didnāt exist until they signed the document? Weird.
That actually makes Carson sound even more out of his mind.
Not only that, but they didnāt even support the 2nd amendment!
