Discussion: Words Don't Matter: Trump Claims There Was 'Softening' In Immigration Plan!

Oh, if only the FSM had made lying a physically painful act, HO would be writhing on the floor for the remainder of his life in excruciating agony.

“We’re gonna arrest people and drag them out of their homes, taking everything away from them — but we’ll do it humanely!”

Sheesh.

maybe he’s referring to his softening (choking) in the meeting with Pena Nieto?

I believe this is deliberate. It’s the disdain for the collective IQ of the electorate that conservative politicians and their campaigns have. They are playing both sides of the fence. Speak softer to undecideds and independents, and then feed his base the raw red meat of hate. Sadly, they’re (Trump campaign) not wrong about their electorate, and I heard a comedian, whose name I can’t recall, say that undecided voters are the dumbest people alive. I mean, how, at this juncture, can you still be undecided? :grinning: Let’s just hope independents are smart enough to sniff this con out.

Maybe he thinks “humanely” means putting in cages like at the humane society.

Trump benefits from an endless hardening or softening debate because it keeps the press talking about immigration and nothing else.

"Look, we do it in a very humane way, and we’re going to see with the people who are in this country. Obviously, I want to get the gang members out, the drug peddlers out. We’ve got a lot of people in this country that you can’t have, and those people you can’t have," Trump said. "And then we’re going to make a decision at a later date once everything is stabilized. I think you’re going to see there is quite a bit of softening."

Press him on this and when he hems and haws, press him some more.

More importantly, anyone who is still walking a tightrope in regards to backing him for president needs to get pressed as well. If their first answer is the obvious, ask them what is the difference between the two candidates?

When they lie, get em on the lie.

Though there has to be an impartial approach, attack, attack, attack.

Unfortunately I think you are brilliantly spot on in your analysis of the Trump’s campaign cynical strategy. They want their voters to feel good in their hearts and minds that Trump is representing their beliefs so he adopts two conflicting takes on the immigration issue that he spins out depending on the audience. The media needs to constantly call him on this and not be intimidated by tired old complaints of left wing media bias. The Trumps and his ilk are working the refs and the refs should be strong. Sometimes in a conflict someone is flat out wrong or more wrong. In this case Trump is wrong.

I’m surprised he hasn’t gone full tilt Philippine President Duterte on his speeches. Kill the drug peddlers and users, never mind that it’s exjudical, It would be the same has his abortion stand that women who get abortions also go to jail, Pence could help him out with this.

JFC Anderson Cooper the other day said it was a softening and Trump said, “I don’t think it’s a softening. I’ve had people say it’s a hardening, actually.” I’ve been going crazy last night and this morning because I don’t see the universal recognition happening that he. is. nuts. He’s nuts! Sometimes I accept the degree to which people see and hear what they want to and other times I can’t believe they don’t see that he’s nuts. How do they not see it? OMG heading back to the current deadline project now see you guys this afternoon maybe I just can’t take it any more.

You know what angers me? If Hillary appears to keep shifting her position like that, the media would never kindly call it “softening.” We can picture headlines would instead be like “Clinton’s shifting position cast a shadow over her trustworthiness issue.” :rage:

And what a waste of time the media kept talking the last couple of weeks about his “position” that has never changed throughout and “policy” that doesn’t even exist. Stop it. Start talking about his tax returns already.

Putin’s pawn has no other loyalty.
HIs words have no base at all. He tells hawks he wants war, racists he will oppress minorities, teevee hosts something outrageous to obscure his last screw up, and people who want to be his friends to fetch burgers.
Politcos would do well to observe how his brand of diplomacy quickly turns on those who offer him the honor of a meeting.

We’re all Trump’s Peña Nieto, Trump’s played bitch and the media most of all. What a morning watching these chumps (not you Tamron!) spin the useless fair and balanced wheels…Sad!
But, on the media bright side, war with Mexico!
