Discussion: Women On SNL Staff: Franken Never Acted Inappropriately Toward Any Of Us!

Giggling as Howard tells her how “nice” her boobs are. And she agrees it is “nice” to be a “smoking hot chick”. Lotta “perks”, right, Leeanne?

What a lying, hypocritical opportunist. The press should be playing this interview alongside their continuous play of the silly pretend “groping” photo. The idea that this trash could end Franken’s career is just …. insane.

Or this one, where she kisses Robin Williams, then wraps one leg around him, then slaps him on the butt:

There’s also a video from the fateful 2006 USO tour (ETA: this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJidGI-NMd0&list=PL1Jn4WMxhsLashoTJBus2J7Y7JxmD1tss&index=5), where she walks over to the guitarist and rubs her butt against him, then he reaches over and grabs her butt, then she apparently gooses him from behind.

None of these incidents apparently caused any lasting trauma, it was all in great fun, but the obviously staged photo (or was it kissing Al?) supposed makes her clench her fists every time she hears Al’s name, or whatever. At the risk of doubting one of women that have come forward…I have my doubts about this one.

I hope there is an investigation so that whatever emails and contacts between Hannity, Leeanne and Stone as they planned their smear campaign, would be exposed.

Something about Stern brings out inappropriate giggles from women. When ignorantmoron said to Stern in presence of Lust Object "I’d date my daughter. . . " all Lust Object could do was giggle.

I’d like to be on Franken’s side but his response to the second accusation was weak and unconvincing. Nobody cares if he remembers taking the photo – he should be able to remember whether or not he’s ever goosed a woman at a photo op. Because that should be the first thing you say when you’re accused of doing that. It seems like he’s resorting to the very same evasive lawyerese politispeak – dishonesty by omission – that he made a career lampooning, campaigned against and held to account as a Senator. If he’s no different when it’s his own goose in the cooker, then you have to agree that he’s no better.

I’m willing to forgive that behavior if he can be honest. But remember, this allegedly happened while he was serving in the Senate, which makes it much more serious. Maybe that’s why feels he can’t afford to cop up to it.

I’m sure there are at least dozens of women Roy Moore has never acted inappropriately toward (you know, adults), and I’m sure that they have come to his defense as well. Maybe in Moore’s case, it’s obvious to us that having a decent mean average of Women Met to Women Molested is wholly and utterly beside the point. I’m tired of the double standard, and I’m also tired of all the “slut-shaming” of Tweeden, and that’s exactly what it is when you say she never cared about this because she was always a walking set of tits-for-hire. You like to think you’re different and better than those Alabama scum, but when it’s your own goose, you’re no different and no better. Get your ducks in a row.

If you are so convinced, I have two words for you: Tawana Brawley. Google it if you so convinced this is a double standard because Leeanne is lying like a rug.

It isn’t the inappropriate giggles that bother me…and honestly, I have no problem with women who like to shake their booty and show their body. To each their own. But to be so obviously comfortable with being treated as an object of lust, (actually, more like delighted), to make a career out of it, and to then claim that a scripted kiss and a photo of a ‘pretend’ grope was something that traumatized her, is a ridiculous stretch. This woman has a lot of very real “metoo” stories, and to ignore those while putting Franken in the category of abuser, does all of us, including herself, a huge injustice.

Really ? I hope the Senate investigation will address both Tweeden and Menz. I suspect there is some good ole Roger Stone ratfucking going on…

You’re overthinking and lumping two different men into one category.

There’s something very rotten about this entire story, as in she was put up to it because of the timing, and because of who probably put her up to it. Meanwhile the comparisons between a pedophile and a guy who behaved like a jerk continue.

It is an attempt at comedy and it was meant to be sexy for the troops.

That isn’t sexual assault or harassment in any way shape or form.

Did he even behave like a jerk? Given the context of the USO tour, I don’t think the photo was even that. In this years light and given that he is a senator and out of context, it does look bad.

Once again though, she claimed he groped her while she was sleeping and used the photo as evidence, she started off with a obvious lie and then a bunch of other parts of her story also fall apart quickly.

This does not look like a woman who is “feeling disrespected" and “gross”. But I could be mistaken.

Now the stellar New York Post has jumped on the bandwagon, citing 2 photos and an unnamed source during a photo shoot as Franken grabbing Arianna Huffington’s breasts and butt (“Arianna was pushing his hands away. He was groping her”). Huff says it is all BS. “The notion that there was anything inappropriate in this photo shoot is truly absurd,” she said in a statement to The Post.

Before that there was the true “second woman” who claimed Franken “harassed” and “stalked” her because he was arguing with her about CBO statistics. But that one was apparently so stupid it never got much air time.

So far we have two accusations against Franken. One is from a known right wing pundit complaining about a kiss written into a skit that she willingly participated in, as well as a picture where he wasn’t actually touching her. The other comes from someone who claims he inappropriately touched her during a picture that was taken by her husband and shows her smiling brightly as though nothing were wrong.

All of Senator Franken’s female co-workers, both past and present, say he’s never harassed them. In fact, they say the opposite; he was nicer to them than most other men were. I’d call this a made up scandal.

He wasn’t in the senate, was a private citizen at that time, but being a public figure is going to gather attention as in her contract with Sinclair and appearances on morning talk shows, etc. I like Franken, always have, and he has support from women in his state and women from SNL. Too bad the Dems have to display purity and pursue him while Rs benefit from having an assaulter in the WH.

To see this from the Right is one thing, but to see it from Dems is a shock. I am not sure if it’s fear of appearing biased, or a real misunderstanding of sexual misconduct in general. What do you think?

So how should he phrase it? Just straight out call her a liar so he can be accused of attacking the victim? He says he doesn’t remember doing anything like that while trying to be respectful of the possibility that something rubbed her the wrong way about the encounter. Frankly, I can’t think of a better way for him to handle the situation.

If Franklin is the type to use a photo-op to grab a feel it is unlikely he has only ever done it once out of the thousands of photo-ops he has posed for. So the sensible course of action is to wait and see what more comes out. If no-one else comes forward it doesn’t necessarily negate this woman’s experience, but it does raise the possibility that the event was some sort of misunderstanding/accident instead of an intentionally malicious act on Franklin’s part. However, even in that event an apology is appropriate so it is proper for him to offer one.

Trump: Women lie all the time. I would never trust them. We have the picture.

That will cost them. Those women will fold like plastic lawn chairs when questioned by a pro.
