I gotta say, this is the first time In my life I have ever read an Alabama news source, and AL.com is definately a different slice of life. 1/3 Roy Moore molesting girls (ok, sorry to the dotard’s follows “young women” (aka fetus holders); 1/3 football, and 1/3 very odd crime reports (e.g. new born baby found in trunk of car). It is clearly weird down there…

No doubt we will continue to see these reports one or two a day for a few weeks.

This all said, I doubt Moore drops out, to do so would be an admission of guilt, and no way he admits to that. Best (in his self-centered twisted mind) to stay in and be a martyr for Christian values, that is the course most likely to keep donations flowing into to his “charity”

Kudos to the women for being able to speak out about this. It definitely can’t be easy with people doxxing you and trying to ruin your character. The newest victim sounds like she’s ready for the onslaught. From the AL.com article:

“I’m not perfect,” she said. “I have things in my background and I know (the public) will jump on anything, but (what happened with Moore) is still the truth, and the truth will stand when the world won’t.”

I’m trying to figure out what is the purpose of having a Ten Commandments monument installed in the courthouse. Was Moore trying to remind himself to obey the commandments or was he just trying to trick people into thinking he obeyed the commandments?

Never let up on the fact that the religious community in Alabama supports this pedophile. That’s not even a surprise, but it’s important to note what a farce it is to think that “people of faith” are deserving of any special status or benefit of doubt. It’s precisely that people of faith believe they have divine permission to commit unthinkable atrocities, all in the name of their non-existent god. Moore is a poster child for the raging hypocrisy and mental illness so rampant within the religious communities. It’s times like these that call for a long review of Chris Hitchens and his awesome body of work exposing all religions for the frauds that they are. RIP, Chris.

Moore flirted with her in 1991, when she was 28 years old, while Johnson was at Moore’s office to give her mother custody of her 12-year-old son.

This is sickening. Typical situation where the abuser uses his power and position to keep the victim from ratting on him.

We need to talk about the segment of American culture that probably doesn’t think the allegations against Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore are particularly damning, the segment that will blanch at only two accusations in the Washington Post expose: He pursued a 14-year-old-girl without first getting her parents’ permission, and he initiated sexual contact outside of marriage. That segment is evangelicalism. In that world, which Moore travels in and I grew up in, 14-year-old girls courting adult men isn’t uncommon.

I use the phrase “14-year-old girls courting adult men,” rather than “adult men courting 14-year-old girls,” for a reason: Evangelicals routinely frame these relationships in those terms. That’s how I was introduced to these relationships as a home-schooled teenager in the 1990s, and it’s the language that my friends and I would use to discuss girls we knew who were in parent-sanctioned relationships with older men.
