When I worked for the Court of Appeals in Dallas, we had a number of well known mentally disturbed people who constantly wrote, showed up and in one case, tried to file things with the Court that weren’t really legal documents. Mentally disturbed people often look to authority as a way out of their problems. They hang around courthouses all the time, so it’s not a surprise to me that politicians hear from them too.
In downtown L.A. Courthouses there are also many mentally ill people wandering throughout the courthouse. The buildings seem to be a magnet for them. Some file bizarre lawsuits, rant and rave in small claims courts. There is a large homeless population in the area. The courthouse is a place for them to hang out when it is cold, hot, rainy. A bathroom is available for them to use. Some have been there for the decades that I worked there. And yet nothing is done for these people. Where did we go wrong?
So many others could have done something but tax cuts for the wealthy are far more important. I was in No. Calif. the last week, north of San Francisco. The poverty I saw and some of the small towns I visited and drove through looked as if they were located in the third world. Years of neglect and evil policies did this.
Back from a long weekend and I see…this. Time to necro this misogynistic thread.
First, you assume that if someone thinks the pun is offensive, that person must be a menopausal woman.
Then, and this is the really special part, you suggest that the problem is HER lack of a sense of humor, which is, naturally, caused by menopause.
Congratulations. You’ve joined the ranks of the jackasses who forward emails with pictures of President Obama photoshopped as a witch doctor, and then complain that “you just can’t take a joke,” when someone calls them on it.
