My neighbor said she awoke during the night with an urgent need to urinate, stumbled sleepily into the bathroom, and realized – as her cheeks were poised to make contact with the seat – that something didn’t look right. She turned around to get a closer look and saw a live rat. It’s not as terrifying as finding a snake, but can you imagine? And this happened in a clean, well-kept, suburban neighborhood subdivision home. Creepy. Hearing her story cemented my own habit of always putting the toilet lid back down (and keeping it down) between uses!
I would take the snake every time.
