A peek both into the darkside of O’Keefe - but also of how careful sourcing/checking before running with a story is conducted by the Washington Post (and other respectable media outlets.)

It also gives a peek at how conspiracy rightwing media works - as in they assume that the flimsy story would result in running to print anything salacious. Much more telling about the rw media other than anything else.

As if supporting a pedophile wasn’t horrible enough, O’Keefe has to take it another step by trying to discredit all the women with legitimate claims against Moore with this imposter. Truly shameful.

Unlike Fox, the WaPo is a legitimate news organization with high standards. And thank goodness for that.

These people are awful, sick, evil assholes. Basically, it sounds like Phillips was trying to shop this BS story around so that they could then reveal it to be a lie and thereby discredit the other accusers. O’Keefe and his ilk, being the idiots that they are, never counted on WaPo thoroughly vetting the claims because they assume that any news outlet not offering daily PP tongue baths is out to get Republicans. What they’ve done here is to actually expose WaPo and it’s journalists as being a responsible media outlet that didn’t just blindly run with accusations against Moore. These idiots, in their lust to confirm their perpetual victimhood, have actually made the claims of accusers even more credible. (Slow clap) Nice job.

It truly is that they think we’re all dumber versions of themselves. They know that they have zero ethics and no problem inventing fake stories to push their agenda and assume that everyone else must be doing the same. So they thought they’d pull a fast one on the dumb ol’ media by pretending to be one of their fake sources as the ultimate gotcha. And when they once again needed to edit out all the context in order to make their prank work, that’s totally legit since they’re sure the liberal media does the same thing.

Some people are so dumb that all you have to do is listen to them rant about how evil everyone else is and they’ll tell you exactly how they operate, since they can’t conceive of people being any different from themselves. And at no point do they realize how obvious all their scams are and that they’re really only fooling themselves.

About that fake news contest…I think we have a winner, and so soon. It’s O’Keefe edging out Fox, Sinclair, and Breitbart.

The list of places that can afford real journalists is getting shorter all the time, but this proves they still have a place and we need them more than ever. Most actual “fake news” “publishes” anything that pops into twitter as a fact these days and gets echoed everywhere immediately.

Good on them for knowing they had to tape everything and do research on everything once the initial story was out there.

OT: It seems that Keith has done his final show at the TheResistanceGQ. :frowning:

Ha! Jaime gets to have a story, just not the one she wanted. Go for it, WaPo. And btw, kudos and thanks for all you do.

O’Keefe must really think reporters are just as dumb and as sloppy as he is.

  1. O’Keefe got braced by NPR for lying several times in order to get into ACORN and then lying about wearing a ridiculous pimp outfit while in there (he didn’t)

  2. Then O’Keefe tried to seduce a female CNN reporter so he could film it. (I would have loved to see this one. Just to see him do his Casanova routine.)

  3. Then he posed as a telephone repairman in order to gain access to the offices of then former Sen. Mary Landrieu, got caught, found guilty of trespassing and put on probation.

  4. Then he claimed voter fraud was a big problem by non-citizens and filmed two of them to illustrate it. Problem for him, they were bpth Americans and had been for some time.

  5. Then he tries to infiltrate a group financed by George Soros by pretending to be someone else on the phone but then inadvertently exposes himself later because he didn’t hang up.

In all these cases, O’Keefe claimed ALL journalists do things like this.

Um…no they don’t. I WAS one for more than 13 years and I never saw it once.

I’m waiting for T-boy to ignore this failed and to start using it as a talking point to prove whatever he wants regardless.

I have observed that wingnuts have a complete lack of self awareness, plus a unnatural thinking that everyone must be just themselves. Its why so many of them “speak in wingnut.” Its Tourettes-like. There is no setting that they think is off limits to political braying. I have a very high-IQ brother like that. Its why I avoid the family holidays.

I would really like to see Jeff Bezos use some of his “100mm” (what O’Keefe claimed ;0) to sue the ever living shit out of this women, O’Keefe, and anyone involved. Depose them, get their records, and when you get a judgement for fraud and false light and conspiracy, spending the next 10 years going after every sent anyone connected to Project Varitas every has come near them.

It ought not just be the Peter Thiels of the world that will use the legal system…

She wasn’t trying hard enough - she should have said that Roy Moore impregnated her at 13 and then forced her to give up the baby for use as a sacrificial offering in a satanic ritual. Then they might have believed her…

If this turns out to be what it’s looking like at this early stage,
kudos to the Washington Post for fact checking.
Nice to see integrity somewhere in Washington, these days.

I hope the NY Times is taking notes on how good journalism is still done.
