Discussion: Woman In Missouri Gov Blackmail Scandal Asks For Privacy

Not for nothing, but she might also want to invest in some good, sturdy deadbolts and a large guard dog. The ol’ gov seems like he might chop her up the next time they cross paths.

Kinky ex-Navy Seal Republican Christofascist has it in for you?

Nah, nothing to worry about there…

You have to feel sorry for her…sure, she screwed up and had an affair, but this is far more trouble than she deserves for that mistake. It’s probably only going to get worse too, the Republicans are likely to start to attack her character (if they haven’t already) once they get past the initial shock over the governor’s actions. Soon enough, she’ll be the villain instead of the victim…maybe she knows that is coming and is trying to protect her children from it, or maybe she’s been threatened with worse if she comes forward. Just a bad situation all around.

I hope she survives and has a life, but I’m sure she’s scared of what the governor might do. Kinda creepy.

If the Governor resigns then the story should mostly go away, unless she pursues assault and/or blackmail charges against him.

Regardless, he should resign. It is the right thing to do on many levels.

Yes, the Governor should do the honorable thing and resign, therefore sparing his victim from more humiliation.

Fat chance?

Apparently Greitens is Jewish.

They’ll paint her as a Jezebel if they can.

I’m sure that’s a load off her mind, LOL…

Thanks for the info…

Trying to find dirt on his first divorce (2006). Not much luck.

Simpson also said the woman believes her ex-husband “betrayed her confidence” by speaking with the media. oh i see , nothing inspires confidence more than boning another guy on the side

Toothpaste, tube, if you’re going to play…too bad.

Who are you to judge her? The fact that this conversation was had with the husband, tells me that they were most likely separated. We don’t know her story and shouldn’t judge her.

I feel badly for the woman that is being brought into this against her will; though I am glad that (at least as far as I have seen) the media is not publishing her name.

I also feel for the ex-husband that did the recordings and released them. As far as I can tell, it does not appear that he did anything illegal as MO is a one-party consent state. His lawyer’s statement says that his life has been completely destroyed and the man that was, in part (the ex-wife bears responsibility for her role in that relationship), responsible for that was getting away with it without consequence. The ex-husband appears to be the most innocent victim in this matter and he has a right to tell his story about the creepy Gov., which can only be done by sharing what happened to him and his now ex-wife.

“It is very disappointing that her ex-husband betrayed her confidence by secretly, and without her knowledge, recording a private and deeply personal conversation and then subsequently released the recording to the media without her consent.”

Wow, secretly and without her knowledge?

i have personally become concerned about anonymous character assassination (or, at least, kneecapping). in today’s climate, a legitimate complaint would garner substantial support, including gloria allred and gretchen carlson in your corner. so why the silence and ‘request for privacy’ after you’ve broached the topic? to me, there’s a whiff of trouble with her (or his) assertions. so at this point, though i sympathize with such claims, i suspect there are significant problems here. the governor should tough it out if the aggrieved party won’t substantiate her (his) complaint.

(and yes, i recognize the now-estranged husband, is the agent here, which means he has been harmed and likely wants recompense, or justice. this could become messy.)

In the gamrat-courser affair in Michigan it was gamrats husband who did a lot to bring the issue to the public, although anonymously. The lovebirds helped it along by firing the aides who knew…

Also in henry hydes case i think it was also the aggrieved husband who went public.

I shagged the Governor, but please, it’s just between us…

It isn’t illegal to have an affair. It is illegal to threaten blackmail. In some states it’s illegal to record a conversation unless both parties agree. In this instance it seems that once again it is only the woman who bears any risk of damage.
