I am worried about a hung jury. Trumpturds in the jury pool.
Gates is out to save his own bacon. Simple as that. I hope they get people on the jury that know how to do basic math.
Or something along the lines of “hello comrade Juror Number 7, we know where you live and would very much like you to help us with a little problem we’re having…”
NPR/NYT both fall into “middlebrow” news sources. Not deep enough to really inform well, but not so crude as to turn off people who want to feel smart. I’d say that’s a good example of how their inability to dig deep and inform falls into misinformation.
Agree with the original point and replies, but I also think it’s necessary to make it clear to those who aren’t following this stuff closely that the EDVA trial will focus on money laundering, falsifying loan documents, etc… This obviously dovetails with being compromised and eventually willing to conspire with Russia to defraud the US electorate, but I can see why you should also flag for listeners/readers that this trial will not address the biggest issues swirling around Manafort.
As far as NPR goes, there are many shows there that dig pretty deep into stories/topics. Granted, Morning Edition or All Things Considered will too often “balance” coverage with pro-Trump dolts, but I don’t think it’s fair to equate them with NYT, which has hemorrhaged credibility with its commitment to access journalism and shitty clickbait editorials.
