To those who feel Tuesday did not meet your expectations of a " blue wave".
We picked up 27 House seats, 7 Governor seats, 4 AG positions, and flipped 350 state legislature seats while Republicans only flipped 100. We had a net gain of 250. In places like North Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma those gains are critical. Big whoop on losing the Two Senate seats. We were already in a minority there and the difference of two seats is no biggie when you consider we now control the House. I have a feeling after 2020 Mitch won’t be majority leader anymore.
I’m old enough to remember when either party took a drubbing- like the Republicans just did in California- there would be a soul searching followed by big changes. Today’s extremely conservative Republican party can’t Can’t CAN’T change. They just double down on their cutting taxes and small government ie cut, Cut, CUT Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, while promoting huge government in things they like ( regulating abortion and contraception). Outgoing Governor Brown ( no longer Governor Moonbeam) signed the first legislation in more than 30 years, raising the gas tax so we can make repairs to our aging Highways. Conservatives got Prop 6 on the ballot to repeal the gas tax . They were counting on the usual campaign to cut taxes and big government. It went down in flames along with all those Republicans. Remember: California is the bell weather for the future of our nation. First we gave then Ronald RayGun; and now we are giving them the new Progressive Liberalism. Weep Republicans- this is your future on the national scene.

It was a great night for us it’s just that some of us didn’t get as far as we wanted because we had awesome candidates who lost.
I had to mourn losing Beto to Cruz. I was hit hard. But it was a great election for us.
I was at my Kiwanis meeting this morning here in Southern California. There are a lot of old white males who are Repugs. One of them made a comment about maybe he should start drinking after the results of the election. To which I said, yeah, I haven’t stopped celebrating. Hahahaha.
