Discussion: With OK From Ryan, House Restricts Confederate Flag In V.A. Cemeteries

“You know who else supports destroying history so that they can advance their own agenda? ISIL. Don’t be like ISIL. I urge you to vote NO,” the staffer, Pete Sanborn, said in the email, which was signed, “Yours in freedom from the PC police.”

Guess what country?

In STL we have renamed several streets that had German names to glorify British or American generals during WWI. Yet we still have a giant monument in Forest Park glorifying the people who fought against the United Sates in the Civil War.

There is a big difference between destroying history and honoring at military cemeteries the flag of an enemy army that put 300,000+ loyal American soldiers into said cemeteries.

If you’re going to go with the “don’t destroy history” argument, I guess you could take the old british approach where they would display the bones of pirates in iron cages at ports.
