“The grand jury’s deliberations concluded around lunchtime on Monday. It would have been simple to make the announcement while it was still daytime. Still, McCulloch said that he would not announce the grand jury’s decision until 8 p.m. CT.”
Sounds to me like the Prosecutor wanted a reaction like what happened.
A grand jury hearing was used as a substitute for a trial the DA didn’t want to have. The DA did that so he could position himself as the sole determinant in the outcome, and didn’t have to withstand the rigors of a real trial by jury. And the world is supposed to respect that as justice.
So now they’re burning down their own neighborhood, and will have to live with the aftermath for years, perhaps forever. This was entirely predictable.
Attention, all you white supremacist teabaggers, Klansmen, ammosexuals, secessionists, and Christo-fascists: this is what defending yourself against a tyrannical government looks like, so don’t bitch. You advocate it all the time.
Well, seems the jobs at the Ferguson Pizza Hut and the local liquor store and a few other businesses are no gone…
