Discussion: Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Once Called Gays 'Queers' And 'Degenerates'

She is giving off a “holier than thou” vibe.

She’s standing next to Walker and not obviously nauseous. It’s clear what kind of person she is, just from that.

Another non-apology apology from a self-righteous, hateful person.

Didn’t Scott Walker attend Marquette around the same time? He probably was aware of her feelings since then. It’s the reason he appointed her.

F-you woman and may your worthless black heart rot in whatever you imagine hell to be…and Scotty will be joining you there too!

Scott Walker certainly read these articles by her and that is why he hired her - the perfect employee and sub-ordinate - for Scott Walker.

So the opinions and actions she took as a young adult should not be considered as permanent stains on her record, nor indicative of the type of person she would become.
Ok, fair.
Now, let’s see if she applies the same considerations as a judge to young adult offenders.
I’m guessing not.

We all were capable in college of thoughts and deeds that embarrass us now, but temperament does not fundamentally change, at best it mellows, and a temperament that has been shown at any age to be deliberately provocative, cruel, and demeaning to real people – in short, injudicious, is not a temperament well suited to the judiciary.

Just the type of fascist hater goon one would expect Imperial Lizard Walker to choose for his Walkerstan empire.

Too bad a journalist didn’t ask her that question - what actions of yours, since you were so young and impressionable / irresponsible / cruel / ignorant, show that your Weltanschauung has changed in these ensuing 20+ years?

You’re going to have to do a lot better than that with an apology to impress me. Like, “the comments I made as a college student were when I was young, and stupid. Those opinions were repulsive in both content and style, and I repudiate them utterly, and ask that you forgive me past indiscretions. In the 24 years since then, I have learned a great deal.”

That might be a start. “To those offended…” ain’t.

I’m sorry but if you are that hateful when you are in COLLEGE I simply don’t believe you ‘mellow’ over time. AND it was a comment or two. AND you accuse others of ‘going after you’…somehow that doesn’t sound like you’ve ‘reformed’…

“We’ve just had an election (in 1992) which proves the majority of voters are either totally stupid or entirely evil,” she wrote, according to the Journal Sentinel.

Well…Clinton won with a plurality (43% of the vote). Bush got 37% and Perot got 18%, so…what is she saying exactly?

Another non-apology, apology.

It is blatant mudslinging to report on my blatant mudslinging.

Sorry, not accepted because you are simply lying. It is who you are and is your worldview or you would not have written it. Just because the country has rejected the Bush era wedge issue hate-mongering against LGBT people is now working agains thou and your fellow bigots and rechavnat luddites and your world-view, doesn’t give you a pass because it now is politically toxic for your views to be out there and tin eh public these days.

Not accepted.

To those offended, this woman has the judicial temperament of Donald Trump.

I’m so relieved that, as her fellow Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan said, “this party does not prey on people’s prejudices.” I’m sure that means they’re going to boot her from the GOP forthwith!

To those offended by comments I made as a young college student, I apologize…to everyone else, you know what I meant.

Rethuglicans always blames the entity or group that exposes and report accurately on their spoken words or writings – verbatim! Then in this case she calls it: blatant mudslinging to distract from the issues at hand. Your past and history is always relevant to who your are today in most cases. It doesn’t appear she have changed much, especially if she’s considered a good appointee by slimebag Governor Scott Walker.

Wouldn’t it be a surprise to everyone if one of these R-W stealth-haters came up with something like this instead of the usual non-apology? Never happen, but it would certainly turn heads if it did.

"I was horribly wrong and frankly, stupid, when I wrote that. I have died a thousand deaths of regret for my hideous and puerile attitudes toward LGBTQ citizens. Since that time I have worked tirelessly to protect the rights of all citizens, and I very humbly ask forgiveness for my youthful idiocy. I am truly, truly sorry.’
