Discussion: Wisconsin Judge Re-Halts Investigation Into Scott Walker Recall

Scott Walker died for our sins!!!

The Court of Appeals obviously has deep doubts about the judge’s order.

Given that evidence before grand juries is secret, and that investigators–for obvious reasons–often don’t reveal who is being investigated, I fail to see the ground for complaint about this probe. But all I know is what I read on TPM.

Geez, Wisconsin used to be a decent state, now they might as well be Texas.

Thank you Mr DaveyJones64 for a most excellent and succinct summary.

Dueling BanJudges?

the desperation on the part of the Walker clan is blatant, transparent, exposed, thinly veiled, obvious, whatever label works.

Has anyone among us ever seen such a clear case of a partisan judiciary protecting devious behavior rather than prosecuting it and openly conspiring to ABUSE rather than uphold The Law to protect those lawbreakers?

Rove and his pocketful of miscreant judges were pretty blatant about it when they persecuted Siegelman, but this is SO transparent and SO partisan, it comes close to Ollie North’s shameful escape from justice.

The investigators must have been on to something, or this would have never happened, I would wager the cat is already out of the bag, and they are just postponing the inevitable.

What evidence do I offer for that postulation?

If there was nothing, they would do nothing. The fact they were moved to tap a partisan judge so close to it coming to fruition seems to me to be pretty solid evidence they are desperate to stop the investigation before it opens up another can of Walker Worms.

Why are comments sometimes (like this one) on a separate page and sometimes not? Why does my comment appear on one endless line when I type it? Why at the “discussion page” if I click on “Log in to Comment” I get a box that doesn’t do anything and I am already signed in?

I have still not seen anything remotely resembling any federal jurisdiction over this issue.

And Randa will not be sustained by the full 7th Circuit.

Did Randa disclose to the parties that his “judicial assistant” is married to Scott Biskupic who represents Walker in the Doe investigation? To remind you, Biskupic was the former Bush USA for Milwaukee who persecuted poor Georgia Thompson and Randa was the judge who refused to let her out on bail. The 7th Circuit reversed her conviction and ordered her release on the day the case was argued. Was Biskupic’s wife working for Randa back then?

First amendment rights allegedly being infringed.

There is no First Amendment right to circumvent the law.

You’ll have a better chance of getting these resolved if you send them to TPM instead of posting them on a thread like this.

I sent the “Log In” issue to them earlier.

So what is this judge’s problem at finding out the truth?

Looks like Randa is the “go To” judge for all things GOTP in Wisconsin. Nice to see judges emulating Scalia, Thomas and Alito instead of actually performing their sworn duty as a judge.

I’d say this reissuance of the subpoena is a bit ominous. These Republican Apparatchiks- in -a -black -robe are committed. An injunction against the Grand Jury investigation effectively gives the targets immunity against any and all investigations for campaign violations of any type, whether they impinge on Citizens United or not. Not many prosecutors would risk being thrown in jail just to investigate an allegation of campaign law violations, whether its related to this investigation or not. .

The Federal judiciary is the praetorian guard of the ruling class. If they can shut down the competing courts in the states, that would be a big expansion of power for them.

I wasn’t passing on the merits of the claim but rather the basis of federal jurisdiction.

Whoa. Something reeks and it aint the cheese.

“This judge, who has a history of right wing activism, took up the case and without hearing any arguments, issued an order shutting down the investigation and ordering all evidence be destroyed.”

there’s the whole issue, in a nutshell…

So was I. /////////
