So basically he’s cutting and running after blowing the nastiest fart ever in the elevator of our political discourse. Profiles in courage! I’m grateful for his really bracingly clear-eyed 11th hour admission that his work has ginned up the crazies into a fact-proof fever but, y’know, maybe having arrived at that realization, actually stick around and do something about it? Dude still has a massive audience, but he’s getting off that elevator and retreating into private life instead.
