Discussion: Wisconsin Assembly Passes Sweeping Power Grab Bill, Sending It To Walker’s Desk

If Republicans could vote to eliminate elections… 80% would go ahead and do it. I honestly believe this!

Wisconsin & Michigan will be feeling the effects of that 2010 Election for generations.

Liars and frauds, all. Every last one is unfit and should be thrown out for this reason alone and hundreds of others.

I thought they took the voting restriction out at the last minute?

while the ratio may not be totally correct - the Democrats must remember

(1) the old "rule of war metric -

an attacking force should have a 3 to 1 advantage over a defending force in order to succeed.

and

(2) the Republicans are desperately defending their positions and have turned this to into war …

I don’t think that’s even a controversial view, at this point.

TGOET couldn’t have said it better (but would have typed it with much more style).

It is not a coincidence that this is happening in the states where the Kochs and their sockpuppets have the most to do with Democratic reversals, had the most influence over the politicians and, indeed, wrote most of the laws they’re trying to protect.

These laws and strategies come directly from the Koch network, not from the pliant and none-too-bright minds of these legislators.

And yet, somehow, our crackerjack MSM seems not to have noticed.

Turning government into a mechanism for increasing the wealth and power of oligarchs and democratic institutions into an eyewash shams powerless to undo the distortions or in any way adversely affect their interests has ALWAYS been the objective of the Koch project.

They may or may not truly have personal conflicts with Trump, but their ideological affinity with Putin and United Russia has always been apparent. To everyone but the MSM, at least.

It’s simple. If the voters don’t want you in charge, change the rules.

Damn ratfkers. The ONLY thing they have done is to stop the NEW administration from being able to govern effectively right off because they will be dealing with LAWSUITS to stop you nasty ass pricks from ruining our democracy. Dickheads.

With one-hand, Republicans like to point to the 2nd amendment as the ultimate recall on governmental power, while with the other hand they like to pass legislation that makes it tempting.

Here’s why the Wisconsin GOP has so stridently defended their
computer-driven gerrymandering of Wisconsin. The State released the
election totals Dec. 3, showing Dems got 190,000 more votes (in
legislative races) but Republicans got 63/99 seats. See how that works?

–> That’s how the GOP has majorities in both houses of the legislature, to work their little post-election palace coup.

The line item veto can only be used on budget bills.

many voters don’t seem to care about the historical record, I don’t see how this would make the difference

The majority of these states used voter suppression techniques for the first time in 2016 and one was Wisconsin.

The more money Republicans can make us pay pharma, the more graft Republicans can get from “donations”.

Covering pre-existing conditions is costing Republican politicians a lot of profit.

And this is the last anyone will hear of Scott Walker. He’ll spend the rest of his life watching shitty TV at his house
