Actually I think it would be in the GOP’s interest to let it all out, and if it resulted in the House impeaching Trump all the better. Then it goes to the Senate, whereupon McConnell is absolutely assured there would not be the necessary 20 GOP defections to convict Trump and remove him from office. Far from being weakened the GOP would portray his acquittal as vindication, and proof he was being maliciously persecuted by Dems having no interest in truly governing. It would clear the Mueller report off the deck and let Trump and the GOP move on with their business.

They have to weigh their chances after the House subpoenas Mueller and gets all the info they need to bury the Trump/GOP on national TV. It isn’t as open and shut as they would like you to believe.

If Barr suppresses Mueller’s report, then that should lead the House to have strong grounds to vote for Articles of Impeachment. Nancy Pelosi will probably bring this up at some point.
