A better question would be:
“Will Trump present a coherent immigration policy, one that constitutes a credible compromise, that will gain the buy-in of competing political factions, and at the same time be a viable alternative to other current and proposed policies?”
In a nutshell:
Questions left unasked. I do not expect Trump to actually answer these, but it would be nice if a reporter asked him.
What will Trump do about DACA (or DAPA)?
Does he still favor abolishing birthright citizenship as stated on his website?
What does IMMEDIATELY deporting all criminal illegals mean beyond what is already being done? The Obama administration prioritizes deportation of those with felony convictions. Where is Trump’s line? Misdemeanors? Jaywalking?
How do you put a fence in the middle of a river? On which side of the river (US or Mexico)? What about private property?
What about people who enter on tourist Visas? Are we going to stop tourism with Mexico on the off chance that some overstay?
How do you plan to force Mexico to pay for the wall? Will you build it and then bill them for it, or wait for the money up front?

Thing is (as you are well aware) no POTUS can alter that by fiat since it is enshrined in the 14th amendment of the Constitution (pulls out pocket copy, thumbs pages to the 14th…)

That is very clear to me.
I would challenge trump to change it cuz I don’t think he can. (It’s one of my favorite sentences in the document). And goddammit he should NOT change it because he would open a Pandora’s box of crap. The powers that be could then pick and choose who’s a citizen (whites only need apply??)
Once again I say that trump— without any reservation— is by far and away the worst person to seek any elective office in the United States in my near 70 years of life.
