After Piyush, does it really matter? Other than New Orleans, this is one sick state.

Time to sleep on the wet spot, Vitter.

What kind of an idiot would have unprotected sex with a pro? What kind of idiotic pro would have unprotected sex?

See, it’s ok because magic Jesus is like soap. He washes away all those dirty things I do.

Besides, I’m a Republican so that stuff doesn’t count anyway.

“Fifteen years ago I failed my family, but found forgiveness and love…” How about “I engaged in a crime and was never held accountable.” Vitter is like the pedophile priests who have been forgiven by the Church (and presumably by God) but have never been held criminally accountable. Great that God forgives you, but if you do the crime you should the time. Engaging in prostitution is illegal in most states, including Louisiana and DC.

I’ll never be sad when a Republican gets caught or blurts out something so flagrantly radioactive that even Republicans think they must be dumb for saying it out loud. Just let’s please not count on it as an overall strategy.

I thought Louisiana was a state with widespread corruption - then I started looking around and talking with people in my home state of Maine and boy am I shocked. While Louisiana gets the headlines for all the wrong reasons, Maine is easily as corrupt as the Bayou state - especially at the local government level where it seems in virtually every town the so called Town Manager is basically in charge of a nice little thiefdom where there is very-very little oversight.

What’s the big deal? It’s Loosiana politics.

Bobby Jindal’s policies are merely the policies designed to maximize contributions from the Republican donor class for a few years. In other words, this is what the future looks like if the Republicans win the election next year.

TPM:

“Fifteen years ago I failed my family, but found forgiveness and love,” Vitter said in the ad. “I learned that our falls aren’t what define us, but rather how we get up, accept responsibility and earn redemption.”

Vitter did not use the word “prostitution.” But his campaign notably changed the title of the ad from “Hard Times” to “Difficult Times” after posting it to YouTube.

Remember the first 2-3 months of the Tea Party astroturf movement, when all the Tea Partiers were calling themselves Tea-Baggers?

What is it with Republicans & Conservatives not getting double entendres until someone points it out to them? It’s like they have no capacity to comprehend on their own anything beyond the absolute literal.

Vitter was getting hammered before all of this. A detailed discussion of his voting record did the trick. It’s actually been an issues oriented election, even if it seems like a bar fight.

The reason why the prostitution thing got so much traction is that Vitter intimidated the press about it. He got a TV reporter in Shreveport fired for asking about it then they had a values debate where it wasn’t mentioned.

So Edwards TV ad (which is probably the all-time great negative ad), hit like a clap of thunder.

It’s not the crime, it’s the cover up that gets attention.

I got a feeling that Louisianans are fed up with Vitter. He’s going to lose to Edwards and he’s also going to lose his Senate seat when that comes up!

Vitter the Shitter has a lucrative career to fall back on as a lobbyist for Huggies and Pampers and the wipes.

Unintentionally gross headline. At least I hope it was unintentional.

Louisiana is trying to replace Texas for electing the worst politicians in the country.
