Discussion: Will Louisiana Help The U.S. Gulf Become An Abortion-Free Zone?

Discussion for article #223985

Another ignorant asshole who knows nothing about women’s health issues, or the reasons
why they chose to have abortions.

“Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal, who is expected to run for his party’s presidential nomination in 2016”

A little humor buried in an otherwise bleak report. Jindall will be lucky to hold on to the governor’s mansion. He has absolutely zero chance of winning the republican primary.

What these backward “Red States” are doing with draconian state regulations aimed at doctors and clinics is flat out illegal Rather than making life good for corporations, the US Supreme Court ought to stand up and say so. Of Course, they will not because politics rather than justice has leeched its way into the creaky joints of SCOTUS, and the results look like this.
Never mind that trashy attempts to subvert the Constitution like these State Laws will kill innocent people.
Yet, in these very same States, the people who do bother to show up at the ballot box promptly re-install the same bunch of politically inbred swine who will just throw away the lives of women for the sake of extending their mythical theocracy to one and all, even if they have to kill people to do it. Some “Faith,” I’ll say!

The title is wrong. It should be called: “Will Louisiana Help The U.S. Gulf Become An Illegal-Abortion Only Zone?”

He’s termed out. He can’t run again right now.

Maybe Piyush should make it an oil-free zone first, before all of those dependent upon a healthy Gulf are out of work.

Exactly! And the obvious answer is : “Yes, proudly!”

What can you even say at this point. I live in Massachusetts, so my rights are protected. California just expanded access, so they’re safe. If the women in these red states care about these issues, they had better get out and vote. If not, they will watch their rights be slowly suffocated. The anti-choice zealots have found a proven method and you can be sure they will keep at it until they have picked off every clinic possible.

Vote!!!

Thankfully or he would probably get reelected. Barring an even more repulsive moron rising up, that is. And one look at LA’s elected officials should prove conclusively that we have an excellent selection of repulsive morons!

Don’t like abortion?

#Don’t have one.

my state day by day is becomeing a no thinking state no common sence no common decency its been going down hill for years…when there was a poll as to who was responsible for the horrible response after katrina 18% said bush 19% obama and worst 44% said they didnt know…im embarrased the ignorance may never end

The daughters, girlfriends, and wives of Jindal’s big campaign contributers will always have access to safe abortions, of course – but then, they’re the only girls and women whose health actually matters.

But, but, but that idea doesn’t allow you to control the lives of total strangers and make family decisions for them. Where’s the fun in that?

Try making the area a “Cracker-Free Zone” first. After that the rest will be easy.

Is there no way to sue these hospitals that refuse admitting privileges to otherwise qualified doctors? At least those hospitals that take federal funds, which I imagine would be most of them. I realize that would solve only one problem, but we have to start somewhere! In my late 60s I have no expectation of needing these services, but I am outraged every time this type of legislation is passed. Whether they like it or not, abortion is a Constitutional right in this country and somewhere along the line, someone is going to have to stand up and protect it.

Diaper Dave Vitter is the GOP’s most likely candidate for governor in the next election.
