if I was grieving for my one day dead spouse I don’t know that a public announcement that I would be seeking their seat in the legislature is what I would be doing. but to each their own, right?

reporting about the church he was pastor for was interesting, with ā€œspring breakā€ like parties with bikers and half naked teens, tons of alcohol…, I think Josh posted some interesting information about this guys’s background

Wow, her ā€œurgencyā€ makes me wonder if it really was a suicide?

Johnson, who pastors a church in Louisville, held a news conference from his pulpit on Tuesday, defiantly denying the allegations.

Say no more…

I first got a push notification, from the Courier Journal, about her intention to run for his seat. That was at about 1:00. He hadn’t been dead for 24 hours yet. You’d think she’d be a bit more concerned about her five children who just lost their dad to suicide.

I’m sorry but these two sound like QUITE the match. He’s lied and conned and wiggled for their entire 30 years together and now she calls it a ā€˜high tech lynching based on half truths’…For God’s sake. You can fool some of the people…and on and on and on.

Holy shit!

No she’s not going to grieve. She is going to mask that with full out grievance pushing instead. It’s our fault her husband killed himself - us and the media. That’s what she just said.

Body is not even in the ground. Weird.

Yep. She’s been with him for thirty years; she’s in on the con.

It’s not like this is a single allegation of sexual assault of a minor, either. It is the thing that’s getting the most attention now (sadly, perhaps), but even without that his record is despicable. He’s a con man who uses Jesus as a shield for his debauchery and hatefulness and lies, and its hard to believe that in the this age he’s been able to get away with the wild parties at church and the claims of being at 9/11 and the White House and the Rodney King riots and so on. It’s not the kind of job where the spouse kisses him goodbye as he jumps into a commuter train and disappears for 10 hours. She’s right there with him. He wasn’t doing all this stuff behind her back without her complicity.

I get it, he’s a con man, and I’m sure he conned her too. But not without her permission, certainly now that that five part series is out. I was going to listen to it soon - guess I’ll move it up the list now. It’s not an article, by the way, it’s an entire website - The Long Con.

If he hadn’t been able to buy a handgun, he’d probably still be alive. Which, now that I think about it, is an excellent argument for second-amendment absolutism.

Rebecca Johnson said she has been fighting behind her husband for 30 years

Am I the only one sensing this leads to a predictable dƩjƠ vu?

This is dysfunctional in about 5 dimensions -
But what is it that raises this tawdry twisted saga to national exposure level? This hypocrite was a state rep - a manipulative preacher - and a pervert - a member of the lower house in Kentucky’s legislature - one of 100 (- the upper chamber has 38 members ) this role pays something like $20K - he had modest clout in a small pond.

It is Christmas … ya know —

Would this be characterized as ā€œshooting fish in a barrelā€ or more like ā€œhunting dairy cattle at close range with a high-powered rifle and scopeā€?

Suicides aren’t usually martyred
but this woman is just getting started.

You really ought to read the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting article on this guy. He was truly a despicable con man, a fraud, and just an all around bad dude. It’s jarring and a little scary that someone so thoroughly horrible would get elected to state government (I know how ridiculous that sounds in the age of PP) and then kills himself when he’s exposed. Add in the sexual assault allegations, guns, and religion, and of course this is a national story.
