Discussion: WI Committee Approves Walker Plan To Drug Test Medicaid Recipients, Others

It’s the Republican way. Doesn’t matter if it was ineffective or ruled unconstitutional elsewhere, you just keep doing whatever you think is the way. This will cost Wisconsin a nice chunk of change defending a law that will probably be blocked by the courts and will screen out less than 1% of the recipients.

It’s all about the shaming, folks. All about the shaming. :disappointed:

I think Walker should be drug tested, for bringing up such a test, but.

"In 2012, an attempt to drug test welfare in Florida was found to have cost more than it saved in denied welfare funds to drug users — and that was before the costly lawsuits that followed. "

Make the applicants day, hope they sue the shite out of the state.

I would check and see who owns the drug testing companies and how much they contributed to Walker.
In Florida it was Rick Scott’s wife…
This thing will never get through. Something about that piece of paper , I think they call it the Constitution

This. Shaming, labeling, stigmatizing. It doesn’t matter what studies say because that’s irrelevant to the real purpose.

Yep, follow the $$$.

Same thing with charter schools, standardized testing, private prisons, ad nauseam.

Walker was a charter member of the American Taliban, Old Testament chapter.

Especially ironic that the Budget committee is taking a step what is going to waste tens of millions of dollars. Waste, fraud and abuse all wrapped up in a nice package.

Are they also going to drug-test those who receive taxpayer-funded government salaries and taxpayer-funded government contracts? Of course not, because the GOPigs are vile hypocrites and frauds as always.

Wait, WHAT?!?!?!

Drug-Testing MEDICAID recipients? You mean they are going to DRUG TEST Grandma and Grandpa in the NURSING HOME!?!?!?! {Yeah, they aren’t on ANY drugs of any kind (not.))

WTF is WRONG with these assholes!

Jesus H. Christ Wisconsin has become a shithole of fucking morons and knuckle-draggers (at least in the Legislature.)

We are well justified calling it “Mississippi-North” from over here in the Great State of Minnesota.
(I got out of Wisconsin just in time it seems.)

…but Rick Scott’s wife made out like a bandit at her screening clinics…Gotta think of the private profit/loss scenario.

Most govt-sponsored financial support (infrastructure, tax breaks, tax credits, Medicare, SS, etc) accrues to the upper middle class and above. They, too, use illegal drugs, but please note how the logic of testing them before they get their perks never enters the consciousness of the racist power structure intent on beating the poor into pulp. These same testing resources could be used better if the GOP were not composed of a bunch of misdirected a$$holes intent on pillaging public finds this way.

Not for nuthin’ but this is pretty much how I look after 3 or 4 good rips on my bong.

So I guess Wisconsin will be throwing gas on the opioid epidemic rather than treating it.

Walker wants Medicaid recipients to feel as ashamed as Walker’s family pets do.

It’s easy to beat up on the poors. So unfortunate that so many in positions of privilege consider it tribal sport.

That’s a side bonus… more state money for high paid lawyers, and less left to pay for pesky things like education and social services. Gotta balance the budget of course, they’re fiscal conservatives!

They get tired of beating up on Democrats…they don’t even fight back.
