When you own party calls you a god damn fascist…well, your a fascist.
When you find yourself agreeing with Max Boot …

Isn’t “thoughtful conservatives” an oxymoron?
You look great in this picture, omahhum.
Not necessarily(there used to be quite a few of them!), but thoughtful ***neo***conservative certainly is! That’s Max’s niche. Never saw a problem more bombing couldn’t solve…
…once wrote the U.S. needed to make a “long-term commitment in Iraq – for 100 years if need be.”
I’ll have to take a look at that piece. I told some of my neocon friends during the leadup to the Iraq invasion, when Donald Rumsfeld was insisting that it would be a matter of weeks and not months, that if we invaded, we’d be lucky to be out of there in less than 25 years. They thought I was crazy, but it looks like I have come a lot closer to the truth than the Bush Administration “experts” did.
Donald Trump says it’s not necessary for him to know much, that he can hire “smart people” to guide him. I think recent history will show that a lot of the worst foreign policy disasters were planned by the “smart people.” A president needs to have the knowledge, the judgement, and the temperament to be able to tell the smart people when to go jump in a lake.
To me, this is both heartening and chilling.
If they see this as we clearly see it, it’s scarier than I thought.
But we’re picking up allies right and left. Thank the dogs and doggesses.
Max “Das” Boot is concerned that Trump is too unsteady to execute the neocon program. Should we celebrate this insight?
When you’re an ignorant buffoon like Trump, even the worst advisors in the world would seem like geniuses. Trump is probably impressed if someone could find the middle east on a map.
O no you don’t - the enemy of my enemy is my friend and right now I will take them all.
I really wish Paul Ryan, Lindsey Graham, Jeff Flake and whoever else is hiding how they really feel would just step up on the stage at our convention and say: We give up, please give us shelter.
When you’re too extreme for Max Boot, then you’re too extreme for everyone.
It’s early.
And as long as they still have a cushy job, they’ll come around.
If you add HRC and Obama please add me too as your list is worth wiping my ass with.
Reminds me of something Hillary said last week after Ted Cruz’s speech at the RNC: “You know something’s gone terribly wrong when a speaker asks people to vote their conscience and gets booed.”
Why This GOP Foreign Policy Expert Is ‘Horrified’ By A Trump White House
Um, I’ll take a guess. Because he is a sentient human being?
I’m amazed that more Republicans (and conservatives) don’t realize that a Clinton administration will be a repeat of the Obama years…a ho-hum, center to center right, status quo government.
Trump on the other hand will be a fascist who causes the Joint Chiefs of Staff to topple him, create a caretaker government, and probably set us back in world opinion about a hundred years.
Seems like a simple choice in the voting booth.
No, Senator Richard Lugar was a staunch conservative, but he managed to work with then-Sen. Obama on a bill to gather up loose nuclear material around the world.
And in 2010 he supported President Obama’s US-Russia New START nuclear arms control treaty.
He was then primaried.
