Discussion: Why Republicans Will Never Stop Hating On Obamacare In 2014

Discussion for article #222137

Yes, let the T’bagger base remain in their reality-challenged bubble til November which puts GOP candidates in an awkward position. Hedge or full repeal only.

For an every day taste of the Donald Sterling ethic ginned up by imaginary reporting simply dial up some Washington Post comments…

In this poll President Obama’s approval with non whites went down 40 pts in two months. That seems like a lot to me. I think that something smells fishy in this poll. If this poll is legitimate than why don’t the Washington Post tell us why President Obama’s approval went down so far with non whites when nothing major happened to cause this. What was the reason??

Please proceed, GOP. ACA is still more popular than their “plan”- of which they have none, of course.

Exactly. What happened?

The Dems have to hold themselves partly responsible for this. Right after passing the ACA–after months of loud, bitter and stupid infighting that resulted in a weakened bill–they then ran for the hills in the 2010 election. Instead of defending their work, they wimped out and let the Repubs do all the messaging. They paid for that with a Tea Party rout.

If the Dems had vigorously defended and explained the ACA in 2010 and continued to support it since then they probably would be in a much better position for the 2014 elections.

We need more Dems like Lyndon Johnson–just without the foreign policy hubris.

There was a story on another site about a guy who reluctantly signed up for the hated Obamacare because a friend urged him to and he was about to die from a heart problem. He got insurance, got the operation, and is now doing well. He notes that a lot of people are misinformed about Obamacare. http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/the-aca-better-its-made-out

Bet the guy still votes for a Republican.

This is why we can’t have nice things.

First off, if you’re a staunch (stench) Republican, you’re unaffected by facts and reality in the first place. You’re a tribal loser immersed in rightwing propaganda, trained like an attack dog to hate Democrats and “Liberals.” You do what you’re told, you believe what you’re told, and no fact or experience will change that belief. They are intractable ideologues. You can’t change them. They just have to die off.

FOX said it.
I believe it.
That settles it.

Behold the Republican “mind.”

I wish he would have taken the other route. What a worthless piece of shit, not to mention medical cost burden.

Yes, what I’m saying is that I wish this loser would have just gone to his grave. Fuck him.

So was this Poll taken at the Bundy ranch or a pool party at Sterling’s house.

Campaigning against ACA will involve a lot of “well, yes, some people were helped,” and “of COURSE we want children to be able to stay on their parents’ plan,” and “naturally pre-existing conditions should not prohibit enrollment.” It will be really awkward.

“So that black guy did what we should have done and you think that makes him something special? Well let me tell you I don’t care how good Obamacare is. You can not co-opt OUR program and expect to get credit for its passing. Who do you think you are? A White President?”

That’s really shameful of you to sink to that level. Fortunately you don’t speak for anyone but yourself.

Republicans can’t have responded truthfully. The only way the ACA rollout could have gone any worse than they supposedly expected would be if the death panels were immediately hauling Granny out back to have her shot rather than deliberating for a while about it.

In all seriousness, this is just a fact-free team sport. “Yea red team! Red team good! Obama bad!”

Only problem is, the ignorant GOP types are the folks who will vote in 2014, and the stupid media will treat it like some sort of referendum on GOP policies. How about looking farther down at the questions like, “Which political party, the (Democrats) or the (Republicans), do you trust to do a better job handling Health care?”

America. We have met the enemy.
