Discussion: Why Are The Knives Out For The Democratic Party Chair?

Discussion for article #227823

Likely because she’s an incompetent self-serving hack. After Howard Dean’s successful 50-state strategy scared the hell out of the Democrats that they actually might to have to govern according to the will of the people, this cipher was appointed to return a sense of normalcy to Washington.

No worse than the Rs’ Prince, er, Reince Priebus. Maybe it’s the etherial water?

Howard Dean was not neutral in 2008.

I thought Wasserman Schultz was a big Hillary supporter?

The post smart phone barrage of endless money demands wrapped in a tissue of concern are forcing me to consider a cave deeper in the woods as America either works through these growing pains or collapses into warring semi-feudal states.
Plus, I couldn’t get past her hair…

I love Debbie. She’s at least out front, and challenging whatever media talking point of the moment is.
I notice the BuzzFeed article does not name name of the detractors. Seems like more high school gossip; get three “anonymous” people to say something bad about her and it’s a HUGE problem.

For all her missteps, Wasserman Schultz is viewed among Democrats as a prolific fundraiser with a message that resonates especially with the party base. Aides say she’s been to 37 states and 99 cities to support the DNC, state parties, and Democratic candidates during the 2014 cycle. Additionally, she’s headlined 63 events for the DNC and is regularly asked to appear at fundraisers.

“She’s a huge draw for us. She’s constantly speaking for us, and always one of lead speakers,” said Scott Arceneaux, the excutive director of the Florida Democrats. “Activists really love her and always have even before she was chair.”

OMG. Everybody hates her.

But how do you like her clothes, or the shade of her lipstick or the height of the heels she’s wearing? All those could be a factor for her failing to do her job.

What you said.

You mean this Howard Dean. The HD that progressives love to throw up in our face.

Howard - son of Wall Street, Governor who made cuts in social spending - had a large following among more traditional white collar Republican-types.
He did well with businesspeople, suburbanites, and others who found his moderate stances (because he was a very moderate Governor) appealing. He did not always play well in some of the less affluent, less urbanized area of the state. (It almost cost him the election in 2000 - in the wake of the rural rebellion against civil unions and education funding.)
When he was Governor, Howard was in a nearly constant state of conflict with progressive activists, and much of the Democratic base, over his budgets, tax policy, and similar issues

I was thinking about Dean and the 50-state strategy just the other day – when Mark Sanford wrote that deranged post on his Facebook page that should have ended his political career … and then I learned he was running unopposed.

I am very skeptical about this story to say the least

Yes, because I’ll take someone imperfect and successful over someone who has done nothing more than flop for years on end.

She’s a horrible communicator, she’s a shitbag strategist, and she’s fucking grating to boot.

Other than that, she’s splendid.

Well, if Colbert’s sister couldn’t beat him last year, she certainly isn’t going to this time around now that he will be much better funded. And its SC. Even with a 50 state strategy, we are years away from being able to compete there.

I always thought of her looks as Chelsea Clinton Gone Wrong.

(note: I think CC is cute, personally)

I still live in MS and still haven’t seen Childers mentioned anywhere.

Stop, she is a breast cancer survivor, and I recognize that post-chemo hair anywhere, I got the same look.
