Discussion for article #232029
Perhaps it’s Romney’s immigration policy that is driving his renewed interest in running for POTUS. It certainly is a driving issue for the base and he’s to the right of Jeb and Rick Perry and probably Chris Christie on that. I first thought the GOP field would be 7-8 candidates. I’m getting the feeling now that it’s only gonna be 4-5. I don’t get the sense that Walker or Kasich are interested.Cruz and Jindal are not gonna run. Ryan is out. I think it’s down to Jeb,Romney,Christie,Perry and maybe Rand Paul or Rubio. Rubio is out if Jeb is in. No doubt in my mind that Hillary is running. I think the GOP thinks that too. Like her or hate her,she will be a very formidable opponent.
At least [n]ow the 47% of Americans that he is insulting… are the ones that voted for him.
He’s gonna try to run to the right of Jeb? I keep hearing this and I just SMH. Is there anything left that he’s ever stood for that he didn’t run against last time? There might be more? This could actually be interesting.
mitt. if you want people to trust in you, start by producing ten year’s back taxes like any reasonable candidate does. what are you hiding? you and the wife don’t think the electorate have the savvy to understand your financials? try us. if you do it right away, your spin machine will have almost 2 years to alter reality.
What is it about some people that just don’t or can’t handle reality?
You were told no 2 times and yet you persist. Okay, come to the party and really screw things up for the rest of your wannabes presidents that is never going to happen anyway in 2016.
hey, you are who you are. A filthy rich white guy with no remorse for working folks along with a spine made of greed.
We know it, you know it and you still persist.
Good luck with that.
On the other hand, it goes without saying that if he did win the nomination, every stupid, bizarre or awful thing he did or said in his previous campaigns would be dropped down the Memory Hole and reduced to atoms in the fiery furnace of MSM amnesia.
Mysterious giant 401(k)? Old news. Refusal to release tax returns? Fully hashed out last time so no need to press him again. Forty seven percent comment? Well, hey, he’s taken steps to ensure he never gaffes like that again under the mistaken impression that he’s only talking to his fellow Betters, and ensuring you don’t gaffe is the Exact Same Thing as not actually believing the thing you said in MSM world. And inside baseball horserace kudos for fixing that problem in your campaign. Ditto, taking ill advised foreign trips to make yourself look presidential where you humiliate yourself by insulting each and every one of our closes allies. Not repeating that mistake is the same thing as not being a dangerously arrogant foreign policy ignoramus whose shallow understanding of a president’s most important responsibility is informed by the ravings of third-tier neocons.
What’s hilarious is that he plans on making poverty a central issue of his campaign. All while running to the right of Jeb, representing big-business donor interests, and trying to woo the tea party wing. I can’t wait to see that! Rih Santorum and Huck have also signaled that they’re eager for rematches specifically with Romney. I’m sure Perry would like another swing at him, too. Romney may enter the fray as a vicious predator out to do harm, but he’ll also have a target on his back and a lot of people with grudges gunning to take him down and out.
Believe me, MSM or not, his primary opponents will be sticking those shivs in his back so hard and so often that by the time he won the nomination, if he does, they’ll have damaged him too badly for anyone to ignore.
Oh yeah. I forgot about Huckabee.
Kinda says it all re: Rmoney:

P.S. I am an HTML idiot - is there an easy way to insert an image? Suggestions?
Kasich is completely interested. I’m here in Ohio and it’s abundantly clear Kasich wants to be President. Or at a minimum he’s positioning himself to be Vice.
Shouldn’t the Republican Presidential debates start next month? Seriously, I’m just thinking of our poor media. Debates would consolidate all those hourly, various quasi candidate press releases into one big weekly pulse reading leaving gobs of time for speculation and mean-spirited backstage fights.
I vote for some sort of reality show where a camera follows all the Republican contenders… I think that would be as entertaining as only a clown car can be…
None of his primary opponents is going to attack him as an out-of-touch One Percenter pillager of the economy or for being a foreign policy ignoramus. Even Paul has to be careful lest he lose the kleptocrat money. Taxes? Depends on how worried they are about their own. You won’t hear it from Jeb.
Real White House Swives?
The RNC decided that all that national exposure of Republican ideas was bad for them, so they took steps to reign in both the number and the earliness of them. Actual thing that actually happened.
So how will GOP klan leaders pack the 90 pounds of candidate into a 3 oz. baggie?
Yep, its like Chris Hayes said last night…it looks like the GOP is getting the band back together again for one last tour. Can’t wait till Huntsman gets thrown in there to play his cowbell. Its just a different kind of version of Insane Clown Posse as far as I’m concerned.
I’m guessing it will be some kind of market based solution . . .
