There really is no non-racist excuse in a town named White with a white man holding down an Indian.
They should change the town name too, to Racistville or Honky Hideaway, maybe LackoColorton even.

I think conventional news may have actually played a part in this one. Based on Trevor’s pre-segment commentary, I think the order of events is:

  • The Daily Show goes to investigate Whitesboro.
  • As the investigation wraps up, the town holds a vote to change the seal.
  • Conventional news picks up on the bizarre story.
  • Voters decide to keep the seal.
  • Everyone mocks them for this.
  • On the day the Daily Show is finally ready to air its segment, the Mayor calls TDS and lets them know the town has been shamed into changing.
