Yep, the optics of Donnie pulling such a bonehead, self-incriminating, move finally dawned on the crack Oval Trailer staff… Too bad…

“President Trump will not assert executive privilege regarding James Comey’s scheduled testimony.”

“…because he doesn’t have even the shadow of a legal leg to stand on.”

How generous of Trump! Of course the fact such a play wouldn’t have had a snowball’s chance of succeeding might have had something to do with it. This is like me saying “I’ve decided I’m not going to date Eugenie Bouchard after all”

What executive privilege? Comey is a private citizen, thanks to Trump.

“The President’s power to exert executive privilege is very well established,” Sanders said at the daily White House press briefing. “However, in order to facilitate a swift and thorough examination of the facts sought by the Senate Intelligence Committee, President Trump will not assert executive privilege regarding James Comey’s scheduled testimony.”

So, I take it this means at 3AM tomorrow Trump is tweeting he'll exercise his executive privilege to impede Comey's testimony?

That’s today. Wait until tonight’s tweet storm.

Did I say “will”? Cause I meant “CAN’T”.

Which means the EO for this will be issued tomorrow.

One of the biggest non-stories to ever non-store…

He CAN’T. USE. EXECUTIVE. PRIVILEGE. COMEY. WAS. FIRED. BY. HIM.

Private citizen, Huckleberry. Shouldn’t have fired him if he wanted to block his testimony.

Bull (Muther Fucking) Shit, lady! Not in a situation such as the one Orange Menace has created all by his lonesome. Lies just drip off you guys.

Since when would that stop him? Someone must realize that it would be a fatal error. And it would.

Can someone answer this for me:

When and why did this issue of executive privilege start coming up? I feel like overnight I started seeing articles about how Trump was unlikely to exert executive privilege, but never do I recall it being brought up before that. Who started this discussion? Was it the white house? the press? congress?

Yes - Trump’s word is so reliable, and his spokespeople have all the best words. But he is The Decider (with apologies to W). I fully expect him to throw a tantrum and invoke privilege.

Replace “exert” with “pervert” and you have something closer to the truth, Sarah.

(OT and stupid question: How does one do a strikethrough on a comment?)

After Comey testifies, it’ll be even harder to find his replacement.

I will not be entering the NBA draft this year either.

hahahaha. I was actually going to type that. I’ve been double-dog-daring him to ever since it became a possibility.

The blowback would be tremendous.
