Discussion: White House: Trump Will Sign Repeal Of Obama-Era Internet Privacy Rules

Besides contacting your federal reps, call on your state reps to act–

In a surprise move, the Minnesota Senate on Wednesday voted to bar internet service providers from selling their users’ personal data without express written consent.

It now must be reconciled with the House’s version, which had a similar internet privacy provision added Tuesday…

Federal rules control. If the House passes a rule stating it can be done, Minnesota can’t pass a law that it can’t unless the federal law gives them wiggle room (like, states can decide).

Not going to argue with a lawyer
But I’ll take “backlash” in any and all forms. Still think lots of calls to federal and state reps demanding privacy will be important.
