Discussion: White House: Time To Reverse'Dark Money' Trend From Citizens United

Discussion for article #232312

“Rather than bolster the power of lobbyists and special interests, Washington should lift up the voices of ordinary Americans and protect their democratic right to determine the direction of the country that we love.”

And, of course, the only thing the GOP/Teatrolls want less than this is more brown people.

Perfect use of the SOTU speech. Just propose a buncha stuff that people want but Republicans will NEVER do in order to show them as the Party of Nothing.

Time to start the meme that ISIS is funneling money into our elections, to get Sharia law enacted. We NEED transparency to stop the terrorists! I think I’m going to foxnation to start this right now.

According to Huck and Ben we don’t have to pay attention to Citizens United.

If I were made king for a day and could only make one change to the laws, I would make it illegal to contribute to a campaign or candidate you cannot personally vote for. As a Missouri resident, I shouldn’t be able to give to the Nebraska Senate race. As a St Louis resident, I shouldn’t be able to give to the Kansas City mayoral race. This would eliminate much, though unfortunately not all, of the outside influence in elections such as the one where Chevron was trying to basically take over the city government of some small California town. I realize that this will never happen, but I’m still allowed to dream…at least until they figure out how to codify thought crime…
