Don’t be misled by what you are seeing: complete chaos, every lawyer for himself and White House staff kept in the dark. It’s a deliberate strategy. So not to worry.

IIRC Cohen said he was not reimbursed by the Trump Organization nor by the Trump campaign which would allow room for repayment by Trump personally.

Trump had no choice but to reveal this given that the Feds have all Cohen’s records. Possibly a payment to a lawyer is covered by attorney client privilege unless made illegally or as part of breaking campaign reporting laws.

That Trump did pay Cohen for Stormy was apparent to any reasonably objective observer such as Chalie Dent so I fail to understand why the White House staff is so shocked.

They believed Trump’s denials? They are accustomed to seeing Trump get away with his lies?

But none of them can leave, because they have nowhere else to go.
It’s like being in Hitler’s bunker during the final days. How do you put THAT on your resumĂ©?

These seem like contradictory views, however amidst the vortex of the mind-bending of a cult, followers can be conditioned to hold both of those positions simultaneously. So it depends how deeply each staffer (or Trumpster voter) is besotted in the thrall of the cult of the golden calf cheetoh as to whether they just believe the latter (not nec. cultist), or believed both (cultist.)

Aside from Ghouliani’s remarks, Miller’s statement is one of the dumbest things I’ve read lately!

and I have also decided that when Sarah Huckabee Sanders speaks at a “press conference”, the only response from anyone in the non-FoxNews/RW media should be, “Bitch, please!”

entertaining myself. lol
Honey badger rudy going rogue:

Ole rudy ends up:

But then again, rudy could be up to something for being dismissed by trump in the beginning.

Oh, Jason Miller! That guy is a walking Comedy Store. Every time he is on one of the news talk shows, all the pundits he is screaming at - and the mofo ALWAYS ends up screaming to get his point across - end up making him look like the fool he is. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him win an argument yet when he has lamely tried to defend Trump. But he is good for entertainment value, and if April Ryan tells you “Honey, don’t go there!”, then honey, I suggest you don’t go there!

I love this. Headlines everywhere — Rudy and Donny throw the WH legal team under the bus. Oh, sooo clever.

Let’s assume Giulani’'s disclosure was deliberate and planned. He and Trump (and maybe one or two other of Trump’s attorneys) decided taking this hit now was the least damaging of the alternatives. What does that tell us? Some of the alternatives now eliminated include:

-Cohen was not being reimbursed.
-Trump not knowing about the Daniels payoff.
-Learning of the Daniels payoff any later than the reimbursement.

(edited to add this does seem similar to the time Trump Jr published his emails leading up to the Russian agent meeting in Trump Tower. He felt he had to.)

FEGELEIN!!!

Der Truer Heinreich!!!

Goering!!

Spe-e-e-er!!

Betrayal!!! Everywhere Betrayal.

Again a song to help us all along.

Your everlasting summer
You can see it fading fast
So you grab a piece of something
That you think is gonna last
But you wouldn’t know a diamond
If you held it in your hand
The things you think are precious
I can’t understand
Are you reelin’ in the years
Stowin’ away the time
Are you gatherin’ up the tears
Have you had enough of mine
Are you reelin’ in the years
Stowin’ away the time
Are you gatherin’ up the tears
Have you had enough of mine
You been tellin’ me you’re a genius
Since you were seventeen
In all the time I’ve known you
I still don’t know what you mean
The weekend at the college
Didn’t turn out like you planned
The things that pass for knowledge
I can’t understand
Are you reelin’ in the years
Stowin’ away the time
Are you

I can see why WH staff is purportedly shocked—they’ve been working for Fat Nixon for awhile, they know he’s a deadbeat who doesn’t pay his bills.

Trump himself was happy with Giuliani’s performance, according to a person familiar with his views but not authorized to speak about them publicly. And Giuliani told The Washington Post the president was “very pleased.”

Quite plausibly, Rudy did exactly what he and Donald had agreed. It wouldn’t be the first time Drumpf initiated a major policy change without notifying even a minority of concerned staff members – it rather seems like s.o.p. in this White House. Moreover, if the whole thing had bombed, it gives them plausible deniability while they usher Ghouliani to the door – which isn’t happening yet.
In support of that, last night I saw an analysis which pointed out that Ghouliani’s new story for firing Comey brings the White House’s mythology more in line with the former FBI director’s testimony and memos. We, or more likely Drumpf’s base, are supposed to forget about, “
this Trump-Russia thing is a made up story
” and, “
a real nut job
” and go with the new version of the precedents’ state of mind.
So, I’m going with Ghouliani was to float the new line and legal strategy and, if it sunk, he would go down with it. If it floated, as it appears to have from the Drumpf’s perspective, they would move it forward, the feelings and understanding of the rest of the staff be damned, as usual.
