Discussion: White House: 'Ridiculous To Suggest' Trump Has Hurt Freedom Of The Press

You’ve never seen a bigger friend of the First Amendment than Donald Trump. And with all this Fake News around, we need to pass a law to throw anyone in jail who questions Trump’s commitment to press freedom!

Right, Sarah, it’s perfectly okay to attack journalists by name, exclude press from State Dinners, put them in a corral, call them “fake” and “dishonest,” and have them deal with your lies. s/

“I think by my mere presence of standing up here and taking your questions unvetted is a pretty good example of freedom of the press.”

So that’s their next move? Vetting the questions?

They’ll vet pretty much anything but Cabinet nominees, amirite?

“I certainly think that, as I stated a moment ago, we support a free press, but we also support a fair press. And I think that those things should go hand-in-hand, and there’s a certain responsibility by the press to report accurate information.”

US ranking in Press Freedom Index tumbles further.

"There’s a certain responsibility by the press to report accurate information,” Sanders said…

…before calling on reporters from Fox, Sinclair, and Russia Today.

“He wants to hurt press freedoms. He wants to hurt the media in general and some specific journalists. He really does. And he’s really, really trying. But, so far at least, he has not succeeded to any sufficient or acceptable degree.”

Her words may have been taken out of context.
I believe what she meant to say was “freedom of the fake news”.

Whether or not Trump has hurt the freedom of the press is a question worth discussing, but he damn well has tried.

SHS is particularly grating on me with her word games today.

"There’s a certain responsibility by the press to report accurate information”

OK, Sarah. You’re an asshole. That’s about as accurate as the press is going to get.

How about a certain responsibility of the Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress to provide accurate - and truthful - information? Asking for a friend.

Utterly ridiculous liar lies in every phrase that comes out of her vocal cords

He’d like to and has tried, but doesn’t have the balls o really do anything other than bitch and moan, plus he wanted the press to freely heap praise on him so he kind of has mixed emotions about it all.

A patriotic Iraqi threw a shoe at President G. W. Bush during a 2008 press conference in Baghdad.
You would think that some patriotic American would be hurling a size-13 steel-toed work boot at this lying POS Sanders by now.
Of course, I am not advocating violence against her person. I just happen to like fashionable footwear.

Be very areful-cay with the usage of the word otherfucker-may. I got banned for a month from TPM by some schoolmarm here for using words like that! And I’m real fucking popular here, too!

Ridiculous. Preposterous. Laughable. Outrageous. Absurd. Bizarre.

At least Sarah’s thesaurus is getting a good workout.

“Certainly would reject the idea that the President or this administration has halted freedom of the press,” Sanders replied.

“We have tried mightily,” she continued, “but as with everything else we have failed miserably.”

When describing the Trumpeteers, we don’t use words like that often enough.

I don’t believe I ever read in the Constitution about a ‘fair’ press. I ALSO constantly wonder just WTF Ms. Sarah ‘thinks’ her job entails…sucking up to and enabling Donnie or briefing the press, you know COMMUNICATING, what is happening in the Executive Branch.
