In that case it’s never too early to start putting pressure on the 21 republican senators up for re-election in 2020 espically if you are a constituent.

This scares me more than anything else, even Individual-1.

That is a truly frightening thought.

McConnell.

Does anybody know if there is some sort of attendance requirement to remain on SCOTUS?

I prefer using a rusty chain saw but to each their own.

Thoughts and prayers for Ginsburg are appropriate here.

Rehnquist missed considerable time during his battle with cancer, and to my knowledge he didn’t retire and there was no significant discussion of rules requiring him to.

And not for the first time, I’m muttered, Fuck you Bernie.

Gonna stay optimistic here. She’s had lung surgery just weeks ago, the whole process weakens her immune system, she’s elderly, and there’s a ton of germs out there. I’d think any doctor would forbid her to go out until she’s recovered for fear of pneumonia. You go septic with that and bad things can happen very quickly.

And not for the first time, I muttered "Fuck you, Hillary." You just had to be the nominee, and then couldn’t even beat Donald tRump.

If she was in her 60s, I’d be hopeful. She’s 85 though. Her odds of living two years are slim.

She should ignore this and stay home as long as she needs to. I frankly don’t care if she’s already realized she’s too frail to ever return. She should simply ā€˜recuperate’, while leaving an empty seat for deliberations, until 2020.

Tough old bird, though. Runs in my family so I’ve seen it in action. : )

We already have two thoroughly illegitimate ā€œjusticesā€ on the Supreme Court as it is, a third one would be more devastating than anything I can imagine. The Russian traitor squatting in the White House should, by all rights, be removed and his appointments be declared null and void, but I don’t realistically see that happening. My thoughts and hopes are with Justice Ginsburg of course, but if Trump gets another appointment it won’t matter what happens to him in the end - the country as a whole will be devastated for a generation at a minimum.
