Discussion: White House Hits Back At Jeff Flake After Senator Criticizes Trump

Typical of this ham-fisted maladministration to give Flake extra coverage by calling even more attention to his speech.

Hamhock Slanders:

ā€œHe’s not criticizing the President because he’s against oppression, he’s criticizing the President because he has terrible poll numbers,ā€ Sanders continued. ā€œAnd he is, I think, looking for some attention.ā€

Oh, the irony. How about we replace a few words, dear?

He’s not criticizing the Democrats because he’s against [fill in the blank with virtually anything], he’s criticizing the Democrats because he has terrible poll numbers, and he is, I think, looking for attention.

ā€œI think our position here at the White House is that we welcome access to the media every day. I’m standing right here taking questions. The President does so regularly. And to act as if we’re anything but open to that back-and-forth exchange is utterly ridiculous.ā€

As if on cue, Sanders briefly addressed another question about administration’s Fake News Awards…

ā€œI know you’re all waiting to see if you are big winners, I’m sure,ā€ she told the White House press corps.

Irony: To poor Sarah, it’s just something you do after wash-tubbery and clothes-ringery.

I don’t know if you really get credit for ā€œtaking questionsā€ when the ā€œanswersā€ provided are demonstrably false and often completely unrelated to the subject matter of the question.

Look for a tweet from Trump in which he calls Flake ā€œFlakey Jeff.ā€

It’s all so predictable: attack the messenger, ignore the message.

Sarah, has the Trump administration ever been justifiably criticized?

How I literally cannot stand Huckabee-Sanders. You know it’s bad when I’m wishing Spicey would come back or even the Mooch.

Perfect rewrite.

Why do you welcome access to the media everyday when they all, other then Fox, lie about your lies?

ā€œHe’s not criticizing the President because he’s against oppression, he’s criticizing the President because he has terrible poll numbers,ā€ Sanders continued. ā€œAnd he is, I think, looking for some attention.ā€

It’s a classic case of projection…

ā€œa mouthpiece for the oppressive Cuban governmentā€??? What kind of bottomfeeders populate this WH??? OK that’s rhetorical but GEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. What a bunch of thin skinned babies that constantly go for the insult and the slur which are always hyperbolic without EVER addressing the ā€˜subject’.

The head doth spin… if I have this right, SH-S’ contention is that (1) Flake, not running for re-election, is seeking to redeem his own poll numbers, and (2) Flake’s method of doing this is to criticize Trump. Not sure how that bit of logic helps the administration’s cause, but okay.

Sanders response only reinforces the fact that Trump is turning our republic into a yellow banana republic. She needs to shut her piehole; that won’t happen though. If anything, Sander’s approach is being parroted by more of the Trump spokespeople. The DOI spokesperson today was pathetic as she criticized the National Park Commission members who just resigned en masse. You gotta continue to wonder if these people care about their reputations after BLOTUS goes down.

You’re assuming they can think beyond the present moment. That’s a bit of a reach for most of them.
