In the past, Trump and Sanders have picked reporters that they’re most comfortable with.
Within reason, that’s normal, but while it was seen as a strange aberration, the next couple of conferences will likely be borderline ‘Cecil B. DeMille’.

- WH issues statement providing different reasoning
- Court issues temporary restraining order
- WH tries to get CNN to consent to one-sided “resolution” to head off unfavorable court decision
- CNN refuses
- WH caves on everything: press pass restored, BS rules abandoned

They backed down upon their threat to talk away his “temporary” pass in two weeks, they gave him back his permanent pass, which was more than the Judge had done.
Do they intend to tangle with Acosta again? Likely. Will they pull his pass again? Unlikely IMHO. And if so, hopefully Acosta/CNN can pull a neutral non-†Я☭mp judge.

trump says he won’t be talking to Mueller directly person to person. I think a subpoena is in order.
trump also tried to shame Adm McRaven for doing his job. That is beyond anything anyone should be asked to endure. In the 1800’s it would be pistols at 20 paces. As it is I think McRaven should sue trump for defamation considering McRaven is now a private citizen. No one should be asked to put up with shit like this. Not the least a veteran of 35 years in the Navy.

I’d hazard a guess their lawyers told them that announcing plans to immediately terminate his access after the temporary stay would pretty much prove any 5th amendment case Acosta might have been pursuing against them.

They created what is supposedly a ‘compromise’.
Yes, he got his pass, but the threat still exists.
Plus it creates a dramedy problem, because unless something unforeseen happens, Sanders can ‘walk batters’ (ignore certain reporters) to her heart’s content.
At the same time, she can play favourites with Trump based reporters, because aside from a bad precident being set, what are those reporters going to do? (slightly rhetorical).

They love the language of power – i.e., power to control people just because they want to.

This is precisely how it goes down. There is no, and never was, a 1st amendment right to have the president or any other person talk to you. Robert Mueller has said zippo since he was appointed. Trump wants the press, and he calls on CNN to use them as a foil. This one got out of hand (for Trump) and he ended up loosing in Court.
If Sanders refused to call on anything by State Propaganda (FOX) reporters, well that will be the story, and whatever lies she wants to push will not get coverage.
