Sadly, it is why the Right is coalescing around a call for a Constitutional convention. This idea makes every State level election more crucial than what is on the surface. The country changes irreparably if this goes through.

At the risk of repeating myself, I sincerely believe a variation of these words should be etched in Spicer’s tombstone. He uses them in every presser … sometimes numerous times.
When will a brave reporter point out to Sean that, in fact, so-and-so was not very clear?
I wonder if libel laws can be used against the President since he regular commits libel and there is actual malice behind them.

Has anyone done the logical thing and turned the question around: So if the libel laws are changed, Sean, you realize that people could then sue the President too? GIven what he has said about people in tweets, at his rallies, in his daily meanderings, it could be argued he’s defamed plenty of them (e.g. the women who’ve accused him of sexual impropriety, Hillary Clinton accusations that she is a crook, statements against Susan Rice etc etc). So is he prepared to BE sued for defamation too?
Intended as a chilling effect, but only the uninitiated will take it as that.

This is just the WH tossing out some red meat to Trump’s base…mainly because they are getting very worried that they are losing everyone else in the country. And this, much like all the empty saber rattling at North Korea today, is meant to drag attention away from…the first bill that Donald will sign into law, is essentially a Democratic appropriations bill, with nothing he or the GOP wanted, included.
